you can use the adapter in the box to play it.

if you want good picture/sound, then get a hdmi cable (any hdmi cable will do)
  • OMG, now you have opened up a can of worms!!!

There are those on here that you need to go and spend £60 on a cable....
    I'm not one of them.

Don't waste your money,, get down to your local Asda and pick up one for under a tenner. Your purse will love you for it and unless the PS3 is miles away from the TV, your DH won't notice either

Sorry, I should have said I bought him a HD ready LCD for his birthday in Sep.

So we have a HD TV & he wants the "real mccoy" blueray picture.

Can we still get that with a cheap HDMI cable or do we need a special blueray one?

Nope a standar one will do you just fine :j

HDMI is a digital interface, paying any more than you have to is an utter waste of money, whilst it can be argued that paying a bit more for a SCART cable can be justified it certainly is not the case for HDMI.
So don't pay more than a tenner.
PS I tend to buy cables from cable universe.

Could you try to restate your problem.

I assume you have an HD ready TV, do you also have a Sky HD box, and an HD DVD or Blue Ray DVD player?

Can you give me the link to that.

As its not much more &would keep him happy:rolleyes:

    Thanks

i think i saw it in my local woolworths. you will find it were the ps3 games are probably along the bottom row of the shelf in the store near you. anywhere that sells ps3's will no doubt sell the cable as well.

of course it can be justified, yes it's digital so it either arrives or doesn't - but you're mobile is digital too isn't it? Ever suffered a bad connection?

The signal can still be degraded by the length of the run or poor shielding if it's surrounded by othere electrical cables or equipment.

I'm not saying pay £500 for a cable, just don't buy the cheapest piece of junk from the market when you've payed several hundred if not thousand pounds already for a TV and games system.
