They now offer an option to refuse the voucher online if you click on Manage (for my Etihad flight anyway), but I'm not sure what happens if you take that option. The problem I've had from the start and why I've been trying to contact them is to find out the T&Cs for my flight. They don't send them with your booking. When you go on Opodo, they say it depends on the airline, and when you go on the airline's website, it says it depends on which type of ticket you booked. But there's no information given about the types of tickets. It's almost as if they're making it as difficult as possible to claim a refund, which they definitely are.
Same as a lot of people, I think it's exceptionally cheeky for them to offer a voucher and then put restrictive terms and conditions on it. I might be tempted to accept a voucher if they didn't insist that it's only valid for just over a year, and you had to book before the end of September. I would almost certainly use the voucher at some point, but not until next year, and I won't know by the end of September when I can take a holiday next year.0 -

It was cancelled weeks ago by the airline (Georgian Airways).I've tried contacting Opodo repeatedly via telephone and Facebook. Can't get through to a person at all.

I managed to contact opodo through an email address customercare@case.opodo.com
my flights with emirates were cancelled, option was voucher or re book. i sent opodo the below'i have looked at the EU law and been to the CAA websitethis is the law, and it specifies it is my choice to have a refund or vouchers. If you do not honor the law then i will be taking legal action agianst youUnder EU law an airline is not allowed to leave you high and dry if they cancel a long-haul flight that you are booked on.
Any flight that covers over 3,500km is long-haul. However, these rules only apply to certain flights to or from the EU.
Check if the law covers your flight
What are my options?
If your cancelled long-haul flight is covered by EU law, your airline must let you choose between two options:
1. Receive a refund
You can get your money back for all parts of the ticket you haven’t used. For instance, if you have booked a return flight and the outbound leg is cancelled, you can get the full cost of the return ticket back from your airline.
2. Choose an alternative flight
If you still want to travel, your airline must find you an alternative flight. It’s up to you whether to fly as soon as possible after the cancelled flight, or at a later date that suits you. Airlines often refer to this as being ‘rerouted’.'
After 30 mins i received an email which said i would get a full refund to the value of £1625 what i paid but may take 90 days. Have sent these emails to my credit card company to do a charge back after 14 days of there email as i dont want to be paying interest1 -
Guys, this information is really useful, keep it coming, thankyou - i cancelled my flights back in March and i am still awaiting my refund which was confirmed on my call with the agent, i also took out the cancellation insurance at time of booking so did not anticipate any issue at all, it is now six weeks and i am now receiving emails asking whether i want to opt for a voucher and just need to know the best way to escalate, getting through on the phones seems impossible as is their automated customer service, i have the cancellation insurance, i have paid for the original booking using my credit card and i also have my own travel insurance, just trying to assess most expedient route ie the best way forward to getting my cash back?
Thanks again for any ongoing advise

Tonymb, did you cancel the flights or did the airline cancel? i would try to get something in writing confirming the refund then pass that over to your CC company for a chargeback1

I finally managed to get through on the phone yesterday. I was told I could have a refund but it would take up to 90 days because of how many they are processing. I'm still not hopeful the refund will go through then but at least I now have email proof that they have agreed to a cash refund. Let's see what happens in 90 days!0

90 days seems to be the standard airline refund window nowEx forum ambassador
