I also have a big problem with Emirates flights to the Maldives booked through the agent ‘Getaflight’. We were due to fly April 23 via Dubai then on to Male,of course return flights as well.Cost was £1,435 paid by cc.On checking my booking on Emirates website i noticed the outgoing flights had been cancelled with no notification from them or the agent.This was on the 10 April .Called the agent and asked about cancellation of my incoming Flights as how could i use the returns without actually travelling there in the first place!He said he had to get in touch with the airline and call me back.He said i would get a total refund of £784,he couldnt tell me why i was loosing so much money especially as all due to Covid19.also was not offered any alternative, had to reply approved,which i did.I asked for a breakdown of Expenses etc and was told that when the refund comes through in about 6-8 weeks I would get it then.I realise that i said approved but thought there was no alternative.Is there any way i can get the rest of the money refunded as i feel i was treated badly,and will lose a lot of money,i am on a retirement pension,so difficult for me,also isolating for 3 months.Any help would be appreciated.Many thanks.0

No matter what you were told they have no right to withhold your refund.
Have you had any money back from them yet?

Raise a "Chargeback" on your credit card against the transaction stating non-supply of service, (using proof of cancellation) also state that you have rejected any vouchers that you are entitled to do under English law.
Normally with a Chargeback the money is returned once it’s processedThe Getaflight can dispute the Chargeback, but it must supply evidence to the card company.
If the Getaflight is successful, then the Chargeback is reversed and the money taken from your account

I have received the full cost of my Emirates flight booked via Opodo using a chargeback from American Express. Well worth getting the cash and putting the onus on to the travel agent to fight for it back!1

Thanks Forumite,i will try,the only problem i have is that there was no notification from either Emirates or Getaflight that the outward journeys were cancelled,i found out when i checked my booking on Emirates website.Also it was me that cancelled the incoming flights as they didnt give me any alternative solution.However i am going to fight this,i will never book with an agent again,a lesson learned.Thanks for your input,much appreciated.0

I have received my refund in my account today! It has taken a long time but at least it is all sorted now. Be patient everyone the refunds do now seem to be coming through!0
