  • Hello gang! Lovely to have a place to pop in and ‘see’ you. A diary feels tricky at the moment - with finances so up in the air even before coronavirus (am mid-separation), it feels impossible now to post anything related to my finances that won’t feel out of date by tomorrow.

i started the week full of routine and optimism, but it’s flagging a bit now, not helped by the likelihood of XH being furloughed any day now and the impact that will have on both childcare and finances. Feel a bit chaotic and need to get sone kind of structure back in place.

Georgiana Cavendish I have started checking the news only once a day (in the evening, so any government announcements will likely have been and been analysed), and I’m finding that a reasonable balance.
Trying to figure out a whole new life. Trying to figure out a whole new budget.
Divorcing, unclear on final debt total right now, but focusing on building a financial buffer zone.

This virus is having so many knock-on effects on every aspect of our lives. I dread to think how long it will take for everything to get back up and running again once all this is done.  My finances have gone on a back burner they just don't seem important right now. Just concentrating on taking it one day at a time.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

I think a time table is a good idea. I'm drifting from an idea of a task to an idea of a chore, not really achieving anything. I'm embarrassing myself with inertia.

Yesterday I baked a cake and bagged up slices for several of the older folk in the road. I wore disposable gloves whilst making it and bagging it and didn't go anywhere near any of them. It's a lonely existence for some of them without company.
Your description  perfectly describes me yesterday. I am not much better today! Tho have written a timetable.  I was doing ok till I ate lunch and now I feel dreadfully tired! But a little 20 minutes should do.
Cake sounds good. and what a lovely kind thing to do.

I still haven’t got my access to work from home so have spent all day on Disney +. Hopefully it’ll be sorted by Monday but the IT Department are inundated trying to sort it out for those that can work from home.  I’ll probably be back at work before it’s sorted. I am really struggling to get dressed each day though. There doesn’t seem any point changing out of PJs. I’m not going anywhere and I know that no one is going to turn up unexpectedly lol. Love the idea of making cake for your neighbours. That was so kind xx

  • Southern Chick, I don't have children but love Disney, do you think Disney plus is worth it for grown ups? I am debating with myself, a friend recommended Now TV but already have Netflix and Prime so don't know really. I think having day and night pjs is kind of fun - no uncomfortable work tights in my world at the moment!
So today started quite well, I slept LOADS which was nice.I have got dressed (Ok I am wearing sparkly pj trousers but a real top!) and eaten breakfast.
I am aiming to go out in the garden today and assess the situation. Wish me luck. Hope you are all doing ok.
    Love Buffy XX

Good morning! Hope all of you are well. Today I have cleaned the bathroom, made the bed, wiped down the sides in the kitchen and am considering the garden. Please note the word considering  :) seems like a cold wind out there, the weeds might be protecting new shoots that the cold wind might damage...okay, I don't like gardening in the cold!

I nearly had crumpets for lunch yesterday, toasted them, buttered them put the plate on the coffee table, realised I hadn't got a napkin (kitchen towel) when I came back with it I found my large cat licking the butter off the crumpets - nice...

If you love Disney then it’s definitely worth getting. It’s £5 a month but you can cancel at any time.  So far I’ve watch the new (live action) Christopher Robin, lady and the tramp and Aladdin  all of which I missed in the cinema.  I’ve just started to watch Disney fairytale  weddings.  Documentary about weddings in Disney which are amazing.  I thought you could only get married in the wedding pavilion but apparently you can get married front of the castle, in China in Epcot, pretty much anywhere in Disney.  It’s giving me my Disney fix😄❤️😄. There loads of films on there and some TV series.  Worth a try especially as you’re  not tied in to a contract.

Well done getting in to a real top today!!!  I’m back to reality on Monday and at work.  I’ve been cleared to go back in so will need to get properly dressed, no more PJs for me 😔😔😔.  On the plus side it means that DD is ok and fighting’s fit and healthy 😄😄

hope everyone isn’t ok and staying safe xx

I feel you’re pain with gardening and use any excuse not to do it!!  I think everyone with a cat can relate to the crumpet incident 😂😂😂😂
