I think they email you with a slot... I'm sure I've seen that posted by other customers on here in your position.

My wife went through the gov.ukextremely-vulnerable link - within 48 hours had confirmation from Ocado and Tesco (both of whom she has an existing account with). Ocado had lots of slots, Tesco had for this week, not next, lots for the week after.

On a slightly different tack registering seems to generate the government food parcel and one turned up this week. I want to say "thankyou but no thankyou we are well sorted" but there's no letter or note.  Here2help don't know, local council don't know - all they can say is pass it to the foodbank but there are others who don't go to foodbank.

Update on Sainsburys Policy for Home Deliveries, today I tried to register as I am over 70, however the rules have changed (today?) and now you need to be over 70 AND have an underlying medical condition. This is not unreasonable given the pressures they are under, but it has not to my knowledge been publicized. Back to chasing Click and Collect slots..

    Hello everyone
Does anyone know the solution to this please. I have a 90 yr old aunt too far away to shop for and no delivery slots in her area. I’ve been trying to get deliveries sent to her address from my own Sainsbury’s account but am not getting slots as she is not on their vulnerable list. Nowhere else locally has any slots either. The Sainsbury’s number you are asked to call is of course endlessly busy and asks you to call back (3 days now!). My question is, does anyone know how people get onto their vulnerable list? Is it just existing customers who they happen to know the situation of? Or is there a local source of information that they are using? And would it be better for me to set up a separate account for her rather than adding her to mine? And what are other people doing about distant elderly relatives?
Thanks, and hope you’re all staying well.

I believe the vulnerable list currently comes directly from the Government. Prior to it being released, I think you had to contact them directly, however some of those people may have been bumped off the list to make room for the most vulnerable. Check whether there is a milkman delivering to your aunt's address. Also check whether there is a coronavirus support group / volunteers near your aunt.
Edited to add: Oh, I didn't notice that this was an old thread with lots of replies.

Hi I’ve managed to get Sainsbury’s to register me as I am shielded. My question is every time I go in to their site to book a slot it’s either full or they haven’t released the next weeks slots.  Is this normal what’s the point of being registered if you can never get a slot.
    Ditto!
    Asda - ditto
    Morrisons - ditto
    Iceland - ditto
Tesco - random slots, sometimes at short notice. Had an email today for slots on Sunday
Ocado - have shopped with them once a week since they started delivering in my area. They confirmed I'm on the governments list but apparently I'm not a regular enough customer to have a priority delivery?!

I seem to waste hours each day keep checking all the sites in the hope that an elusive slot appears.
Here I go again on my own....

Registering via the government form seems to make no difference at all.  I am registered as disabled plus my illnesses put me in the highest vulnerable category, I was 70 years old a week ago. I have been unable to get any delivery slots for the three supermarkets I have been registered with for the last ten years or so, so it's not as if I am a new customer. I have only been out about 10 times in the last 10 years and that is always to the hospital, I am running out of food and now starting to wonder what stewed living room carpet tastes like.!!

I feel that we have all been forgotten in this terrible crisis.

I registered my 79 year old Stepfather(who has leukemia)  on the Gov website 2 weeks ago.

He's just sent me a picture of the food he received in a Food Parcel this morning - tins of soup, UHT milk, fresh bread, potatoes, breakfast cereal, apples, pears, tinned fish, tinned meat pie, tea bags, rice, coffee, pasta, biscuits, tinned veg, and even a couple of toilet rolls.  A perfectly adequate supply for at least a week.

It certainly has put my mind at rest.
