Our council has suspended all recycling... whatever it is.

They've just told us to put all rubbish into any bins and they will all be put on the same  cart, once a week.

Which keeps life simple, I guess.
You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset. ;)

Simple, perhaps, but the whole lot will go to landfill. :(

You really should hold back your recycle materials where possible....

Ref the crushed cans , I have worked in a council depot for recycled products ,they used a big magnet on a roller above the conveyor belt to remove steel cans and the aluminium ones went to a separate pile ,they got a difference in  money for the different materials

    Generalising again! Lol

If Morglin's council sends waste to incineration, the metals will be extracted from the bottom ash, the bottom ash can be used as an aggregate in road building or construction and energy released from burning the plastics and residual waste will be used to make some electricity. Nothing should go to landfill.

If Morglin's council uses an MBT plant (mechanical and biological treatment), then some recyclable materials will be removed before the waste is biostabilised and dried, producing a high calorific refuse - derived fuel, suitable for use in cement kilns or specially designed / adapted power stations.

I can’t really.  We are in a flat, I’m on this hit list of most vulnerable, so can’t even store it anywhere else.

It’s unfortunate, but they are doing no recycling collection “for the foreseeable” and I’m just following their instructions.  It’s a small block, and we have those skip bins in the shed.  Every resident is just putting all their rubbish into them, regardless of what it is.

The usual recycling bins, for the whole block, have been locked away by the caretaker.

Just one of those things at the moment.

Just been and jumped up and down in my recycling bins.  After 6 weeks plastic / cans is about 1/3 full and paper / card just under 1/2 :D

Yes, our council is amalgamating green bags (recycling) and black.  However it goes here - see above.  Not all burning is bad.  And to be honest I do not see how a council can maintain recycling in the C19 climate.
