I might get one of those to protect myself from the thoughtless and stupid neighbours I live amongst! It seems they are all at home today, whether they are supposed to be in isolation or just unable to work I don't know. But there are conversations going on over gates, fences or walls, with nowhere near 2 metres between them, as far as I can see. So my plan for venturing out to do a bit of gardening came to nought! I dont want a tribe of neighbours descending on me and launching into a conversation.
To add to my annoyance my friend in the village rang to see how I was going on and proceeded to give me a tale of woe about her DH which I won't relate or you would all end up screaming with me! I have come to the conclusion that me and my DS, DD and families are the only sensible people up here! There must be others but they are probably hiding away behind closed doors too.
Righto rant over and I might pop back later when I have calmed down a bit! xx ps is the sun over the yardarm yet?!!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"13 -

That's one of my favourite excuses reasons - the sun is over the yardarm somewhere. Some of our neighbours are letting their children run up and down the street. We are the road that a lot of people walk up and down on their way to the supermarket......you can't fix stupid, sigh.11

Well, I'm back! By the time I got to work I had got myself in a right old tizzy and promptly burst into tears! One of my colleague/friends calmed me down (from a distance) and it was actually ok.
We only had 1 child in, his mother was phoned just to let her know he was the only one there, he could stay or she could take him to another school that had more children, so she came to take him home - these places are supposed to be for front line parents who don't have child care, how can she just turn up to take him home? Anyway he's not coming in tomorrow so that makes no children and 2 booked in for Friday.
125 packed lunches were made and 115 were taken by me to the foodbank when we closed at 2pm. I felt really bad for one lady who came in quite early asking for lunches for her children and we just gave her one for each - she was clearly in need, if we had known she could have had a boxful. We had a system of name ticking at one window in the foyer and collection at the other so minimal contact.
I'm emotionally exhausted now and was glad for the laughs on today's thread, keep them coming!13 -

I am not the most techy savvy of people and I have managed to put a photo of my Sparkle on my profile. I am feeling a bit chuffed with myself!
Aw CAMELOT these trying times are getting to a lot of us and I think a good weep now and again does us good. xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"14 -
Fabulous cat - so pretty! Well done TA.I've prescribed Camelot a large G&T- doubly good as quinine is one ingredient in a so-called 'cure' for the virus. Can't be bad at least"9

TA oh she's beautiful ! I understand now why you are one happy Mummy.Gers and Nelski shame on you !
Now everyone will want one ( Nels you are nearer the mark though ) It is lovely to be able to have a laugh
When I sorted out the shed, I found the old van cover has been used to hold a mouse party ! How very dare they ! Well now they'll have to find a new venue. The cover has been cut up and bagged ready for disposal, our tip is closed too but I had no thoughts on going there anyway.Mr Fix It meanwhile has been devising a cleaning system for any online deliveries. It's in 5 parts ( 4 buckets, then drying station ) and if it's raining we will be donned in our wet weather gear and under a tarp. ( insert big sigh here) Now I find he's been drawing hazmat suit designs on the back of an envelope
It makes him happy, but I fear he's turned into Capt Mainwaring crossed with Albert Einstein ! Me...... I'm still Corp Jones " Don't panic, don't panic " while running amok like a headless chicken.
love nan xxPS I think it's wine o'clock !!Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently12 -
Thought you wrote 'house party' NAN - and the image you have conjured up of Mr Fixit is just magical. It's always wine o'clock somewhere in the world, you just have to imagine that you are there! The Amazon delivery bloke left a parcel on the ground outside the front door for me - trouble is I still struggle to bend to the floor. Cue a juggling act to get it upright against my foot and then using the grabber. I managed to get in inside the house and near a chair so I could sit and 'climb' the packet up the leg. What a palaver12
