Morning
Up since 5 trying to get mum a slot for online shopping secured one so it was worth it but she will be upset as its Asda instead of Morrisons. Morrisons are driving me mad at the moment and if possible I won't be returning as a customer. Anyway I was watching "he who can't be mentioned" on GMB and he was trying to get everyone to volunteer in the NHS. Obvs I am not much use with my walking issues atm but they took me as telephone support. Not much but at least I can do my bit somehow. Sounds a bit like my age uk befriending role chatting to lonely isolated older people which I have plenty of time for.
Sorry I was MIA yesterday it was not a good day. A good shake down though and Im back to the new normal. Walking is really improving but I miss the physio input. Today looks like a nice day later so Im determined to get out with a book and let the pasty face see some sun. Food wise it could well be chilli....need a freezer rummage later. House looking OK so I may be back to choosing a job off the master list
Glad to hear everyone is showing the war spirit and getting on with it ....its all we can do really.
Camelot hope you don't have to go in for much longer could you not work from home?
Scarlett how lovely of your neighbour....eggs are as rare as hens teeth round here
Gers hope the tooth doesn't get painful
Take care all x17 -
Morning everyone
Camelot - do you have no choice about going to work? I was lucky as our manager decided to close our nursery but some of the staff in school weren't happy about going on a rota, especially as there's very few pupils going in.
Scarlett Ribbons - I've been like you, just mooching about the house, thinking I could do that or that...but then just spending too much time on laptop. I did go for a long walk yesterday though.
It's my youngest DD's 21st birthday today. She's still in hospital with little one and very anxious to get home. I have her presents and cards in a bag and will leave them on my doorstep when she's coming home.
I have a prescription to collect from Boots....I'll ring to check its ready and ask if theres anyone can deliver it to me. If not, I'll just have to walk in for it.
Take care everyone

I'm back I didn't want to make this the first post as its a bit carp but i need to share my fears and i know many of us are in the same situations know i just want to have a vent at the world
For me not a great morning I am feeling very down and tearful DD2 had a long day yesterday and came home with the devastating news that her ward had the highest positive testing rate for Covid including 5 staff members who are now off with possible and are now self isolating agency staff were brought in but refused to work with potential infected patients any staff who have ICU experience are being taken so they are short it looks like she will have to work all week as she will not see the ward or her patients short . She was supposed to be leaving in a weeks time and starting her new job at a small cottage hospital just after the wedding but she now plans to stay and work up until her move which will be who knows when . We are totally isolating ourselves now and not even speaking to neighbours from a distance . Thank you for listening love to you allxx

Morning all.
A bright and sunny one here too, though a bit chilly as yet. It seems such a shame that people can't make the most of this good weather, unless they have a garden of course. And when I say 'garden' I mean a real garden, not a scrubby patch of weeds and concrete like mine!
DS2 says that his walk on the beach with daughter and dog is getting longer every day as it keeps daughter and dog out of the way of DIL who is trying to work from home. She is desperate to keep working in the hope that she has a job to go back to when this is all over.
TA, I'm not doing too well on the housework front either. I keep starting something and then thinking, oh, what's the point, no one will see it except me.
ScarletRibbons, I do the wandering around unable to settle too. Yesterday I thought it might help if I wrote down a plan. It didn't.
Gers, best wishes for your tooth.
Dumpling, keep your mind on that ginger kitten! Ginger cats are special. Until recently I've always had cats and always, always a ginger one. My gingers were always accompanied by other cats of various hues, but they were always the special ones, from Bill who arrived when I was 4 and shared the shelter with me during air raids to Oscar, who arrived as a 3 week old kitten whose mother had died and was brought up by me and our German shepherd dog. The two of them were inseparable. Go for it Dumpling!
ADO, don't you DARE go climbing on to kitchen counters. Mucky windows you can live with. Broken limbs are another thing altogether.
Well, I bet that another 10 people have posted while I have been slowly tapping this out on my tablet, one letter at a time.
My plans for today involve trying a 1 hour teaching session with DGD on Facetime. Ive never tried anything like this before, so it's going to be interesting. First because technology and I are old adversaries, and second because it has been a long time since I taught 7 year-olds. Interesting times on many fronts.
Bless you all. Keep safe.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
A recent study has shown that women who carry a little extra weight live longer than the men who mention it.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Bella your daughter is an amazing person. I've been thinking about her and I know that these are only words but I hope with all my heart and soul that she stays safe.
Camelot from what I've seen on my book of face, most parents are as keen to come and collect packed lunches as staff are to give them out i.e. not at all. They're worried.
dp1 Birthday hugs for your daughter.
Gers fingers crossed that your tooth stays painless
The HT and I went for our usual trundle down the prom at 7am. We saw slightly more people today, probably about 12 but we all kept at least 4 metres apart. Some shouted good morning and some didn't but everyone kept their distance. Apparently it's as busy as a bank holiday down there by mid afternoon. If it starts getting busier in the mornings I will have to think again about where we go or get up even earlier.
My "to do" list now has 15 things on it. They won't all be done this week. My cousin posted a good meme on her book of face this morning. It was "After all these years of wanting to thoroughly clean my house but lacking the time, I have discovered that lack of time wasn't actually the reason". It gave me a giggle anyway. Procrastination is obviously a family trait.
Take care all of you14 -
Morning all
Bright and sunny here but with a sharp frost this morning, I have a wash on the go and will hang it out once its done.
OH has had to go back to work he is a carpenter so classed as a construction worker and they have to keep working thankfully he is working locally and not in a big city but I am terrified he will get the virus, my immune system is low anyway atm and If I should get it that will be my op cancelled (if its not already) he is the only one able to do his mum and dads shopping as they are both in their 80's and has been getting our shopping when we need it too, its bloody selfish making them still work and this virus will not slow down all the time people are mixing, we have one bottle of hand sanitizer which I have sent with him and I shall run a bath for when he gets in, I am so frightened about the whole thing though, how can I socially isolate when he is made to work !!
Oh Bella I was so sorry to read your post my heart goes out to you and your lovely brave DD she must be terrified too xx
Not sure about dinner tonight but there is still a lot of fresh stuff in the fridge so we wont go hungry.
Yesterday I cleaned the inside of the downstairs windows and pulled the sofa's out and cleaned behind, today I shall tackle the cabinet in the lounge which has 16 drawers in it most of which are full of clutter, I am setting my self one goal a day, as well as walking with the dogs.
Please take care everyone on here, much love xx
Nels you keep fighting girl you need to be my wine drinking partner once we are well xx14 -
Aw BELLA you poor love, you are getting more and more thrown at you. Why people not heeding the advice given about isolating or distancing beggars belief. Why can't they understand the seriousness of this. When this first started my DS said it will be worse here than any other country as there are so many idiots living here. I fear he is being proved right. Example being the group of 20 people witnessed having a BBQ yesterday or those thronging the seaside towns at the w/e. It makes me so angry. xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"14

Morning all,Lovely morning here.Walked pooch early, the council has now amended it's park shut order. There was a notice pinned to a signpost where I walk on, you are allowed to walk through now but not use any facilities & the car parks are shut. She won't walk far anyway, she keeps stopping and wanting to go backI'm keeping the bird feeder topped up as it's something to watch when we sit at the table.I'm a bit the same re housework, there is a big pile of ironing, then I think there's no one else to see if we wear unironed stuff anyway...Ruby sorry you have so much worry - DH is also a joiner/carpenter but he's self employed and so is stopping at home but the building merchants round here are all shut so he couldn't get supplies anyway .Bella, what can I say, you must be so worried to know how exhausted your DD is doing her wonderful job looking after others. HUGE hugsNelski, glad the walking is improving and that you managed to get a slot.I do know Morries website was down for a lot of yesterday as they launched the box of essentials for £35 to be delivered by courier.DS facetimed the DGC yesterday so I had a word too, times like these you realise the importance of technology.Look after yourselves xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. BELLA - sometimes life just bears down a little too hard. You are with us and we will listen, some small consolation!REDRUBY - can your DH not declare himself self-isolating and get an isolation note from the NHS 111 website? That would give you some leeway at least. I'm not up to speed on the actual process but it looks as if he just has to do it.CRANKY - love your housework comment as well as MONO's - both made me smile.TA - I saw the BBQ on the news, absolutely disgraceful.Just listening to a woman on Pop Master, she's somewhere hot in Europe (Spain perhaps) and says that the restrictions there are even mor stringent than here. It could be coming. Now the council have closed the recycling centres - the tips - which is a worry. Think they are concentrating all staff on the lorries for regular collections, I really hope so. Glasgow City Council are in a mess with their bin collections already which is why I normally take everything to the tip myself. Hey ho!
