Old Style Daily Wednesday 25th March

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning message.

Morning everyone
bellabella - thanks for starting us off x
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Cold frosty start to the day here, although it was warm and sunny here yesterday.
DH up and gone to work stupid stupid early, DS2 still in his pit, I'm bathed, dressed and enjoying first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was roast chicken portions, mash, carrots, peas, LO yorkshires and gravy - very nice it was too. Tonight I'm not sure but there's plenty in the fridge so will find something and will not be throwing anything away.
Work yesterday was busy, we're no longer seeing anyone face to face - all dealings are either telephone or online.
Keep safe and well x

Morning,
Lovely Sunny morning, cold though. Load of washing in the WM.
No work for a bit as they closed the school as not enough were using it. So today I will blitz the bathroom and then this afternoon do some gardening and hopefully fill the bin up.
SC meal tonight. Will be doing list for hubby, he will go shopping for essentials tomorrow morning.
I did try online shopping but the slots are about a 3 week wait , and half the things I wanted were not in.
Take Care everyone

Morning All
The sunshine has left! It's drizzling at the moment and very grey.
What a time to break a tooth Gers! Hope it doesn't give you any pain.
Thinking of you as always RR and Nelski.
I have to go to work today, can't say I'm happy about it. I'm admin so not sure how that will help look after the children. Our school are giving out packed lunches too, I really don't want to be involved in that either as I'm trying to stay away from everyone. Anyway, I'll go in and air my views but don't want to upset anyone.
Yesterday was quite productive, the front bedroom was cleaned, tidied and the bed made up. I also sewed on the rest of the brownie badges, now need to see if I have to take the badges off the sash and sew them on the blanket!
Hope you are all keeping safe and well, take extra care. XX

Good morning, another fine dry morning here. Thanks Bella for starting. Not a lot done here yesterday,, though I had jobs to do. I just wandered the house unable to settle to anything, but I've got to stop doing that, and get a grip because I end up feeling sorry for myself and things are no worse for me than they are for anyone else.I'm going ouside into the garden today while its fine, and we'll tidy at the back as well,.A nice thing happened yesterday, one of my neighbours texted and said she was going to leave some eggs and potatoes at the front door, she'd been given a lot and knew she wouldn't use them, as she lives alone. We thought it was very kind of her.Nels hope you are all right, and Rubty, thinking of you.Thinking of everyone in fact, in these strange times, even a fortnight ago who would have thought it would have come to this.Take care folks, hope you can all have as good a day as possible19

Morning folks and thanks BELLA for the new thread. Another gorgeous but cold start for us too.
I have hit double figures this morning - 10 days in solitary confinement and it feels like 10 weeks. I just adopted my little Sparkle at the right time as she is stopping me feeling totally home alone! I get regular calls, texts and videos from DD and the girls but it's not the same as actually seeing them. Speaking to DS yesterday. He had to go into work but they have been told things are so on track for transferring the operation they may be able to finish before the month end. His new job was due to start 6th April but that is on hold now. His DP rang to see if I needed anything and she sounded quite chirpy despite having to close her shop and get all the jewellery etc locked away in the big safe. I hope all the little local shops like hers survive this.
I have still to start the one room a day spring clean but what the heck! I have plenty of time in front of me to do that! Today I am telling my legs to let me attempt a bit of gardening. I won't be as extreme as TAFF sadly! My hoe and grabbing stick will be by my side then I can avoid bending over.so much. And to think I used to love gardening!
Have a good day one and all and a huge number of "HUGS" for everybody to keep us going through these trying times. My thoughts too with the poorlies (RED RUBY especially) and those mending (NELSKI) and all the sad and lonely. Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"17 -
Morning folks
As Camelot said, grey and drizzly here whilst the rest of the country is already enjoying sunshine.I am slowly sliding into sloth. I can't do more cleaning in the dining room as I can't reach down and am wary of climbing a ladder to go up. All the plans for hallway floorboards and changes to kitchen, which would have kept me busy, have been put on hold.DM is reluctant about letting her cleaner come tomorrow whilst my views are divided. If she does come she won't be allowed into DM's room. I could really do with her help...we'll see. My argument is that the cleaner is no more of a risk than DM's Saturday visitor.Yesterday the NHS dietician phoned to review DM's Ensure Compact. The planned visit was changed to a phone call. Upshot is she can still have it. Phew!No pain from tooth (yet).I hope that everyone is doing well. My thoughts go out to all the poorlies and sad.Happy Wednesday to all.17 -
Good morning all. Bright and chilly down here on the coast. Off to allotment to tidy out the shed today. DH been putting the hours in there whilst I do seeds etc in greenhouse at home. Thank goodness for outside space. Freezer dive for dinner. Take care allCarolbee14

Good morning everyone
It's a bright and sunny morning here, sorry Gers and Camelot, and I have just enjoyed my first cup of tea at my desk. My daughter rang me yesterday to say her cat had just given birth to three beautiful kittens. As she didn't know she was pregnant it was a big surprise. She has sent me pictures and I have fallen in love with the little ginger one so I will have to work on Steve to persuade him that we need another cat.
Today it is going to be more gardening and clearing and cleaning. Not very exciting but it needs to be done. I am going to Facetime my sisters later on so that is something else to look forward to. We have been trying the new HouseParty App as well and that works well. I love my new phone, it is really helping me keep sane.
I am going to make a tuna pasta bake for the kids and Steve and I will be having chicken, corn on the cob and chips. I was super lucky last night and managed to get a delivery slot from Asda for next week so that is a relief. I will see if Jemima needs anything and we can share it.
Jess is still in hospital but I managed to message her through Facebook and she still has her good sense of humour. I am hopeful that she will recover and thank you for all your good thoughts and prayers xx
Well I hope you all manage to have a good day whatever you are up to, take care xx

Good morning, another lovely day. I'm grateful for that, it makes day 12 easier.
Yesterday I cleaned in the kitchen, did the base boards and skirtings by sitting on the floor and scooting and then had to find something to cling to so that I could get up. Cleaned the woodwork and fridge, stopped at that point as I have to climb on the worksurface to do the windows so that will be part of today's list. I did a bit of weeding too. Lots more to do.
Gers, hope your tooth continues to be pain free.
I'm thinking of all those who are lonely or worried about unwell family and friends. Hope everyone stays safe.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back17
