The FCA at the weekend requested that all London listed companies delay the publication of results for a period of at least 2 weeks. In order that the considerable disruption of the virus could be considered. There's going to be a slew of bad news in mid April onwards.

Possibly but there are going to be quite a few people who invested for yield under the assumption the dividends were relatively safe who may now find themselves in a situation that they may need to sell to top up their income. Made especially worse by the fact the the good dividend payers have fallen the worse, mostly being cyclical companies.
  • What's the betting Shell will suspend it's dividend? Must be on the cards.

They are "slowing down" the share buy backs.
    They were still buying yesterday.

Doubt they will suspend the dividend, cut maybe.

4th Quarter 2019 dividend was paid yesterday.
As for 1st Quarter 2020 much will depend on the resolution of the oil wars between Russia\Saudi Arabia and the USA.

I wander if the big paying dividend insurance companies such as Legal & General or Aviva will be next?

Declared dividends for FY19 are most likely safe.
