Hotel cancelled

"I didnt take the cancellation insurance because I wasnt cancelling." (From the opening post)If you think about it, most people don't take cancelation insurance because they intend to cancel - they take it out in case something unforeseeable happens - as has happened here - forcing them to cancel. If you chose not to take it then you have the choice now of simply accepting the money has gone or (as I and others have said) claim on your travel insurance...1

They dont and neither did I. If I'd had cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances of my own making I'd have taken it on the chin but I havent cancelled.
I dont agree with it, I'm still in contact with the hotel and am determined not take it on the chin

Whether or not hotels in a different country or not are open and should be closed is a different discussion completely but the fact is the hotel is open and able to provide the service you booked with them so why should they lose out?.Robste84 said:Correct but how is that right. It's not any different to all of the air b&b places you can still book!!! Is that the same thing and should it be allowed?
Just because you are unable to travel to them doesn't mean people from within their country/city can't.Robste84 said:What's stupid about the situation? It's stupid to stay open when nobody can travel to you!0 -
Probably not for much longer, they will at some point decide they have had enough and cease communication.Robste84 said:

Well done. Did they elaborate in any way as to what* had changed their minds? It could be helpful for others in a similar position.*eg they were legally obliged to, or a gesture of goodwill etc etc.0
