The Police never seem to have enough evidence, my friend are work was beaten up his friend very badly hurt. They caught them it was admitted and told it would go to court this all took about 30 months! He was told he would be advised of a court date. His friend received a letter saying there wasnt enough evidence. The Police are useless.Help me to help you :santa2:0

My first car in Edinburgh was left without a boot when someone reversing an artic ripped it off, he made out like he was leaving a note under my wiper, but he didn't. Luckily the two guys working on the buildings site next door took details of the licence plate, a description of the driver and gave me their contact details to pass to the Police. 3 months later a phone call from the Police, "Sorry we couldn't do anything...............what with no witnesses or evidence or anything........."
£400 to fix in my second month at work after leaving Uni. Think I'm still paying that off on my credit card now I think about itAlmost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -

Trouble is-if the 2 guys say they dont want to make a statement to the Police after the event-there are no witnesses.
If the Police put it across as " if you write a statement-you may have to go to court and give evidence" many people just dont want to get that involved.
Its the society we live in today.0 -
S sympathise entirely, my family were intimidated by some thug who lived across the road, car was trashed regularly, it came to a head when the thug began to chase and threaten my children, (even my then 5yr old). The police still needed evidence.
Then I had it, after setting up a camera, we had video footage of the thug, smashing the car and chasing my 5yr old down the street, screaming at him like a banshee. Yet still, in order to save the police the time and effort of having to do yet more paperwork, they said "oh thats not evidence, its far too grainy and it could be anyone" - it clearly wasnt, having thought it was upto a court to tell me that anyway, it was clear the Police had better things to do, like I lost complete faith in the police, admitting defeat, we packed up and moved out.
Its Ironic that should I have hit him, the police would have been around in minutes, arresting me for assault. I think youll only ever see a policeman, when you have done something wrong.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

The police asked me this question when i had someone walk into my house last year and pick my bag up and walk out with it. Its evidence they can use. I now have security cameras at the front and the back and directly on my car too and it's recorded on the PC so they can be watched at the same time. You can use your TV as well and like I say it doesn't have to cost the earth.0

The police can't take any action unless the criminal admits that he has done it??
The ministers and judges deserve kicks on their ***.:mad:Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0 -
It is up to the CPS whether they can be charged with anything, the police make a file for them to view based on statements etc that has been provided. The CPS then make a decision as to whether it will stand up in court.
Its easy to blame the Police when it isnt their decision.
Its the justice system in this country that stinks not the police.
Life's way too short!
