Please also join me in petitioning Skyscanner to stop recommending MyTrip on their site which is how I was tricked. Others should not be subjected to this fraud, and while legal action will be difficult, we can at least try to make sure that as few people as possible are scammed.

They are not recommendations. The majority of companies that pay to appear on skyscanner are pretty dire. Skyscanner do include a rating for each one based on their customer surveys - what was the rating when you booked?
selecting a third party purely on advertised (non-live) price without doing any research can be costly.
during a pandemic with additional fees charged by third parties, the place to book would be direct with the airline.

This company has been exactly like this for years. I don't even know how they are still in business with this kind of service. Do yourselves a favour and just avoid using MyTrip/GoToGate 👍

Like any business, customers giving them money keep them in business. If there are enough people not researching and clicking the cheapest adverts to give them money they will keep going.
If people were aware how bad they were, the fees they charge and the lack of after sales support they may think twice about saving the few £ compared to booking direct with the airline.
This is a moneysaving site but it is often the case that those who chase the cheapest fares can end up paying more.
