An MP recently stated in the HoC that he had reason to believe that some of these companies had links to organised crime. Does your gf really wish to support people smuggling, white slavery and child prostitution? You never know how far you can go until you go too far.1

Yes, you can post your defence here for critique. Not sure what the "IAG provided defence template" is, why are you not using the one that we recommend by following THIS LINK (unless it is ParkingEye). If you do use this one, you only need to post changes to paragraph 16 & 17. If you were told by someone that it was "OK" to park there and they have some sort of authority, you can claim promissory estoppel (ask Auntie Google). Resist the temptation tell your story (apart from promissory estoppel)in the defence, save that for the witness statement.2

If she is the defendant then you should stop saying my defence , I parked there etc , you have been told this fact numerous times already
It's her defence , I too have no idea what iag is apart from insurance
Clarity and pedantry are crucial here
I have no idea why she cannot attend court , there is nothing to be afraid of , it's like a job interview where the judge is a referee , he decides who owes who andd and much , it's not a murder trial and she won't be put in prison , she won't get a tag nor will she get community service , it's just a dispute over money , so don't think it's like the black panther trial not the Salem witches debacle
The judge decides if she owes money and how much , or not if she wins on a technicality , no shame attached , no punishments , no issues at all
If she loses in court , she pays the claimant the figure set by the judge , say £200 or less , promptly and ASAP , definitely within 30 days , end of story
So post her defence if she wants us to look at it , we have no interest in what you are doing or did , it's a legal defence based on her legal arguments , not your witness statement of what happened on the day , to be clear , if she wasn't present then your actions are of little relevance1 -
Thanks for your help, all. Bottom line is she won't attend court and just wants the situation resolved asap. We are going to pay the full amount and not pursue any further. Sorry if I have wasted anyone's time0

It won't be Northampton it will be your local court, you/she gets to choose the court by means of a DQ (N180) form after having filed the defence.2

It's definitely not Northampton unless she lives in Northampton
The CCBC in Northampton is just a government office and they would not let her in if she travelled there
If she lives in Preston she will attend Preston civil court , in Preston2 -

Ok spoken to her again. She is happy to proceed with the defence and see if it makes the other party drop their claim. She still has no intention of going to court though, even if in Brighton (where she lives) - at that point she/we would back out and pay the outstanding invoice owed.
Given the above, is there any point in me filing a defence for her? ie what are the chances that : a) the claimant will back down; b) if not (a), the chances of her having to go to court?0 -
tell her to put her postcode into the court finder website and find her nearest civil county court (so civil not magistrates)that is the court she will put on HER dq when she fills her DQ in , she gets to choose her own LOCAL court as a defendant and private individualif its Brighton she goes thereif its Exeter she goes thereetcunlikely to be Northampton unless she lives in Northamptoncapiche ?Mine would be either Stockport or more likely Manchester0
