Don't mean to be rude but I simply don't believe you that you can't get an MOT. Try harder to look. Just put in your postcode on kwik-fit.com and you will see availability.
They may have reduced staff but they're not closed.

Yes I have and everywhere is either booked solid or closed/closing

Whereabouts in the country are you? Many places are running near normal.

I have tried 12 different MOT stations in my area and none can offer me an appointment - they are ALL either closed/ no answer or are closing

The list - provided by neilmcl show ALL MOT stations in "normal times" - not those open now !

Kind of reminds me of the car rental scene from Planes,Trains &Automobiles especially the ladies response at the end.

The only answer is go back to Neil's helpful link and contact mot centres further afield until you find one.
Or take the risk of driving illegally.

Why would fuel not be available?

Do you think staff will be available to deliver the fuel ? Nobody is immune from the situation and some will relish not having to attend work.

I never said otherwise, I was simply trying to be of help and provide you with a list of all MOT stations in your area. If a lot of them are fully booked up then perhaps you shouldn't have been leaving this to the last minute.

I have heard from the garage - they assure me that unless Government policy changes in the meantime - they WILL be picking up my car on Monday to service and MOT it - I can then spend my £30 on a years road tax !
