We ordered a chair back in January that was delivered in Early March but upon delivery was found to be faulty so was taken away by the delivery crew, we were advised that we would have to wait for the returns process to be confirmed.
Having heard nothing on the 17th March we went into our local branch, where a colleague contact customer services on the phone, how then confirmed that they could process our refund which would take 3-5 working days. It turned out that the refund was frozen by the administrator and I have now been advised I am an unsecured debtor..
I paid for the chair on my Laura Ashley credit card (New Day), what i want to know is are they duty bound to refund me the cost of the chair in this instance as they seem quite dis-interested to date and have not been very forthcoming with what actions i can take.
Thanks in advance!0 -
Was the chair £100+? If yes then raise a Section 75 claim on your card provider ... no need to be stuck by the administration, as S75 makes the credit provider jointly and severally (separately) liable for the performance of the contract.0

I returned some goods costing £51 the day before they went into administration. I phoned and they will not even acknowledge return of goods let alone refund. Do I have any recourse? Paid with credit card, but less than £100. Seems particularly annoying that they can now resell what are effectively my goods as they are still trading.0

I ordered a Laura Ashley sofa in October 2019 and (fortunately) it was delivered just before Christmas 2019. I also paid £104 for Staingard protection and have just been informed by Homeserve (who provide the insurance backing) that Laura Ashley never paid the premium so I am not covered. I have put a Section 75 claim into my credit card provider but isn't this corporate fraud (or embezzlement) to take money to provide a service and then pocket the money...after all Laura Ashley had 6 months to pay the premium?0

I ordered 2 sofas mid March from Laura Ashley and was encouraged to open a credit card account to get an extra 10% off.
I did this, but paid £650 on my debit card, and the balance of over £1400 on this new card. I didn't really want a credit card, I preferred 6 months interest free option but this was not avalable, so I was swayed by the extra discount. I rang Laura Ashley and got through after 3 days of trying, when I first heard they were going into administration. I was told there was no reason to believe I would not get my sofas and to wait until nearer the delivery date. After this I have emailed, rang but had no response. New Day (cc) said until I have it in writing I am not getting my sofas they do not want to know. The delivery date has now gone. How long do I leave this now before I make a claim. I have had conflicting advice about who to claim from, my bank for the £650 or the credit card for the full amount. Could someone please point me in the right direction.

I ordered some furniture from Laura Ashley in January with delivery in March. The delivery drivers didn’t bother to stop to deliver it as there was no space outside my house and didn’t call until they were telling my neighbour they weren’t going to deliver. It took LA 5 days to give me a new delivery date of 2nd April which they then cancelled due to corona virus. They tell me I have to wait for my furniture until they are allowed to deliver after lockdown is over and I can’t cancel the order because they are in administration. I have nothing to sit on in lockdown. What are my rights? I paid deposit on credit card and took interest free credit to make the purchase. I need a sofa. Please help me0

£650 on the debit card.
£1400 on the credit card.
Both will be chargebacks.
As you are now passed the date of delivery. You can ring them and start the process. If either say "You need it in writing" say you want to complain. That should get the ball rolling. Although you may need to send something in stating delivery date.

Thank you. I will definitely get the ball rolling now.0
