My travel insurer won't cover coronavirus - can we claim through my partner's?

Long story short - me and my partner took out separate single travel insurance policies.
Mine, heartbreakingly, does not cover travel disruption and the insurer won't cover coronavirus. Dealing with airline separately for refund, but for accommodation costs worth around £1,000, could we claim on my partner's insurance? All bookings were made on my card and in my name, but we were travelling together on this trip.
Trying to find a way to not lose £1,000 separate from flight costs.

If you've got separate insurance I doubt you would be able to claim on his. they would only cover his share of the cost, assuming his insurance does cover travel disruption.0
