I am finding that my Co-op card is being declined more often than accepted now when making payments to my credit cards. I’m definitely more sure than I was that this isn’t worth the hassle once it’s 60 payments a month
To get the £2 reward it's not mandatory that you have to make 60 debit card purchases!  You'll get 5p for every purchase up to a maximum of 60, but it doesn't make any difference to the £2 reward if you make none.
I know that I am just reflecting on how much harder it will be now they have doubled the transactions needed for the extra after the £2.
Agreed. £4 + up to £1.50 for 30 debit card transactions was much easier than £2 + up to £3 for 60!
In fact, I think for the 1st time ever, I might JUST manage the full £5.50 for this month's Reward

Had a look at the Skipton account and noticed this in the t&c under 4 Withdrawals.
    6 Non Payment Account
6.1 This account is a savings account and must not be used for multiple transactions like a current account.

Whether that refers only to payments out as it’s under withdrawals I don’t know but it appears to me that they may crack down if necessary if they think the facility is being used inappropriately.

Like 60 x £1 payments in per month?

Yeah I did see that aswell.  I already decided back a month that I'd just use the Skipton account for the Halifax £500 DC payment in (and then out) that I need to make to qualify for that reward, and use my NS&I one for the co-op transactions.  I will probably grow weary of doing it after the first month of doing 60x copy and paste's of my DC number!  It'd be easier to set up a recurring payment with my credit card, but (I think) mine only allows to make one payment per month by DC.  Maybe I should find a credit card that allows for it.  So much hassle required for such a measly reward tho :(
  • Sorry, this is not strictly on-topic but I didn't want to waste a new thread...
My account was credited with the reward for May a few days ago (£4 basic plus £1.30 for debit card transactions).  Yesterday, the reward has been paid again (same amounts), in other words double payment for May.  Seems to be a mistake. Has anyone else received double payment?

I’ve just checked and yes they’ve done the same to me.
No doubt they’ll take it back when they realise or not pay it next month.

I've been paid the rewards twice this month, too.

And me, think I will reduce my balance to 10p before they take it away. I guess they will soon enough realise and not pay it next month though more than likely.  I'll take it out anyway before they might have the chance to do it :)

I don't see how they could use the double payment as a substitute for next month's payment. What if someone fails to qualify next month, or carries out a different number of qualifying debit card transactions? What if someone performs a current account switch in the next few days? Could get very messy.

This could land you with an unauthorised overdraft. There is little IMO that would justify you saying "I didn't realise this wasn't really my money".

Got £5.50 reward on the 16th and the 19th ... looking forward to the 22nd :)
    Retired 1st July 2021.
    This is not investment advice.
Your money may go "down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... I got all tricked up and came up to this thing, lookin' so fire hot, a twenty out of ten..."
