  • I think they are difficult if you forget your password or change address but otherwise they seem fine when it's all working online.

I moved house last year and had no problems at all with NS&I. I agree that the online service is fine although I have never forgotten my password.

My browsers save all of my login credentials which may be a security issue. I do not know if they will need to offer 2FA as I have not heard from them as I have from all my other banks.

2FA is an abbreviation for 'Two Factor Authorisation' security  - where you need two layers of identification (something you have, such as a card reader or phone to recieve an SMS message, and something you know, such as a password) to access your account

Thanks. In that case NSi have adopted it. Transferred some money last week and was required to input a code sent to my mobile.

Thanks for the info on NS&I sending an SMS and apologies for using a TLA. :)

I ended taking all of your helpful advice and used NS&I and it was fine. Also using their online service is really easy and straightforward. Ignore the bad reviews. Many thanks to everyone who replied 😁

Trustpilot is a rubbish and untrustworthy site.  There was a company I left a negative for and in no less than 24 hours it received about 30 positive 5 star reviews.  There are several companies that do they same thing whenever they get a negative.
