I have two current accounts.  One has all my direct debits and the other has none. Is there any way of finding a couple of really cheap direct debits so I can meet the criteria for the account switch?

Can't remember the name, but I'm sure there is a website which allows you to set up direct debits for very little money just for this purpose.
(If i can find the site, I'll add it later)

Can’t you just change over some of your existing DDs rather than spending extra money for the sake of it? A lot of companies swap over very quickly.4

Recommendations for the Post Office should come with a health warning as countless people had countless problems when trying to get their money out of the Post Office. They all eventually succeeded but it's been a massive drama for large numbers of people. Search the forum for experiences.
There are enough less troublesome alternatives - search for the thread about DDs for savings accounts. There is also no real reason why you should pay a third party for the DDs although some people don't mind.2

PayPal should be first, it's completed very quickly and at nil cost0

https://smalldirectdebit.co.uk/ has direct debits for £1 a year, so you will only have to pay once even if the switch takes time and the bank takes time to pay the switch incentive.

Couple of credit cards? I buy 4 pints of milk twice a month with 2 different credit cards.
Aren't self service checkouts and contactless payment wonderful.0
