We got our offer through in writing today!! I’m still in disbelief I can’t beleive it! It was so painless and took a total of 3 weeks from full application to official offer, which is quicker than most banks at the moment! I’m over the moon finally going to be a homeowner! And was much less stressful than I thought it would be!
Hi. Great news re your mortgage 👍. Our buyers are with bluestone and we were expecting them to get an answer today re their mortgage offer but I think we were being overly optimistic. Can you tel me what their process was with you. Ie DIP, then underwriting? Then offer? Our buyers have said it’s gone to underwriters but we thought it already had? There application went in on 9th July? we’ve got another offer on our house and don’t know whether to go with the other offer as we have a house we want and might lose it if there’s too much delay. Thanks in advance x

The process is DIP, application, underwriter, valuation, underwriter, offer.
Where Does the First mortgage application on Experian appear in this process?
E.g we’ve had initial genetic identity checks and then now mortgage on Experian ( few weeks later) wondering if this is a positive sign?

@ojh2112 I've just checked my search history and it means you are at the start of the application.
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.

Our aIP was end July application went in on 4/8 had initIal checks on credit file then more docs requested back and forth etc Then on 19/8 another check on credit file and mortgage on credit file so can’t just be at start of application surely???
  • Ours was at the start of the application. Application submitted 24th June, soft searches 24th June, hard search 30th June while it was still with the case handler before being passed to an underwriter. We then got our offer on 22nd July.

The actual mortgage shouldn't show on your credit file until you complete surely?

Hi everyone. Been reading this thread closely and there seems not really any logic to time scales. I applied to bluestone through my MA for HTB started 7 weeks ago.. Next week will be our 8th week from start of application. I would not say our case is particularly complicated. A valuation was carried out nearly 2 weeks ago which came back fine. Since then we have heard nothing. Is this the norm? Is a mortgage offer emailed or does it come through the post?

Sorry I meant soft and hard search on file so does this mean it’s still being looked at before first underwriters???? And once valuation goes through Is it pretty Much gonna get offer?

Hard search went on my file during first underwriter. A valuation is a very good sign it will go to offer. Speak to your MA closely, they should know what is happening and at what stage the application is at.

Anyone had any experience of remortgage time scales? A lot of these posts are geared towards purchase?
