  • Hi everyone, I'm new on here, and i've been reading all your experiences waiting for a decision from Bluestone. Good luck to you all. I'm in exactly the same boat, and i'd be happy to get a night's sleep at the moment. Although my process hasn't been particularly slow, i had a query re affordability surrounding outgoings and Universal Credit last Wednesday which i've answered and haven't heard anything since. I do have flexibility in my budget, so i could increase my deposit or pay some things off. I have an up to date DMP, which i will be settling anyway. Does anyone know if they will look at alternatives or just decline me based on their initial affordability findings? Thank you!

So we was under the impression that our application was in the final underwrite stage.. Until brightstar emailed our mortgage broker this ;w e are due an update by Friday on this one. If it is all good, it’ll be passed over for final review and sign off. We are hearing back within 48 hours on sign off’s at the moment so might have some good news on our way next week
Our application went in 23/12/20 our valuation was done on the 18/01/2021, we had to send in last of Januarys bank statements last Wednesday. Now we're worried it's going to be declined after all this time :( we have no other option as to another lender and won't have the time as we're using the old help to buy scheme. :(

We are in the same predicament as you on the old htb can't use the new one as house prices is too much.  Application submitted 04/12 valuation 05/01. They asked for bank statements and references last Tues sent them all back Weds now just waiting again to see what bluestone say. It's just frustrating the wait inbetween each request.
The stress of not knowing and the fact March is only next month is so very worrying isn't it! Who is your broker? Also are you having to use brightstar as packager?
Yep, builder sent me a moving in date yesterday of the 19th March 😭. So unsettling I might be moving or I might not. Were moving areas and all 4 kids need to move schools can't arrange anything whilst in limbo.

We used a trusted broker, who has been brilliant but we have struggled with the packager impact. Knowing what I know now I would have gone with simply adverse and paid the extra just to not have the stress.
  • Turns out valuation hasn't been instructed after all. I emailed to ask what date was booked and been told that a valuation hasn't been instructed yet and we are just one step away from one being instructed.
I have been waiting on on been instructed since the 14th of January, I really am wondering if I would be better starting again with simply.

They haven't asked for anything further and nothing seems to be happening. I'm slowly loosing my mind here. 😭
  • We received our offer at the end of January, there are a number of "special conditions" to pay off debts etc. these are slowing everything down as our solicitor now needs to see all the evidence, but as I've paid off my CC's in Oct they dont generate statements due to the 0 balance. Bluestone are being very specific in what they will accept. They also want my parents who are gifting us some of the deposit to instruct their own solicitor to evidence they have had independent advice about the gift. I really thought the offer was the final hurdle but got more before we can exchange and complete :(

We are pretty much the same dates as you. Valuation done 21st Jan, packagers ( i think is Impact) asked for us to fill in credit commitments - which they already have details of - last week and we were told we should have an answer this week.
Nothing from MA, tried to call and no answer 😐 loosing the will to live here!
Does anyone know if the packagers are able to speak to you if i was to call them direct tomorrow?
  • Bluestone did a hard search on 2nd feb
but not heard anything from them
does anyone know if this is a good or bad thing? Valuation completed 21/1 and they have the ins and outs of a ducks you know what 😬

Oh my 😔 my mum in law is gifting us the deposit so wonder if we will need to do the same?  We also have credit cards but no more than 500 🙈 hope yours get sorted soon 🤞 are you using the old help to buy scheme at all?

    Hi,
we are having a very similar experience to you. Had our offer but Bluestone are yet again holding the entire chain up. My parents have gifted us some money to clear a loan so our solicitor has sent Bluestone the declaration of solvency for approval. They still havn’t confirmed they are happy with it so my parents can sign. Also they have never come back and confirmed receipt of the offer acceptance. So frustrating!

Just keep chasing your MA, ours has the been the same also quite hard to get hold of,  we haven't had any forms to fill in for credit commitments 🙈 we did tell our MA at the beginning what we was paying out so maybe she passed that bit onto brightstar.
Everyone's case on here seems to go different doesn't it, some are very quick others are complicated 🙈 one thing is for sure.. Bluestone are very very slow 🙈

I have a partially gifted deposit too and some of the conditions were a deed of gift indemnity and a declaration  of solvency. My solicitor said he would sort both out.. 😬 I was really hoping I wouldn’t have to ask my parents to involve a solicitor themselves
