I generally get a very quick response from lux (under 6 hours), however the last week or so that has suddenly stopped.
Probably because of Chinese New Year.
Of course, makes perfect sense 👍

Only time ever.  Found it in the data sheets too.  SOC went from 44% to 0%  in an instant.  None of the other data jumped out as odd.  No weirdly huge or small numbers compared to the rest. (not that I claim to understand what they all mean anyway)
Wow.......Greenlinx batteries can go down to Zero ??? Dunno then mate, best you raise a case with your installer and get them to investigate. Unless it's a false positive (meaning it didn't really happen it's just an anomaly in the data) then the only thing that cause cause such a rapid drop in power is either it dumped it onto the grid OR there was a dead short but the latter would have created some serious heat.

One thing you might want to try is go onto the Lux power app or the website and reset the Luxpower unit to default (this is the user setting only, it won't affect anything the installer did). I was given what seemed to be a used unit first which had a charge profile on it. I discovered it sucking in a huge amount of power the first day of install at 9pm. I reset the values to factory and it never did it again.
Thanksfor reply propnut  - Have sent details to installers (Senergy) service team. Hopefully see what they say soon
  • A few weeks ago my inverter stopped working again - 4th time in as many months. When it started up again all the production that wasn't used in the house was sent to the grid - no charge to the batteries. I have been on the Lux website and reset everything back to the original settings and restarted everything (inverter and 9.6 Pylontechs).

I have a programme that looks at the batteries and 1,2,&3 are 26% charged but number 4 is 39% charged?  Number 4 is the original battery, the others are two years newer but have worked OK together for two years.

I tried to charge the batteries from the grid for half an hour but all it managed was 9w charge rate.
The half hour ended but it's still saying that it is charging the batteries at 9w.

The app shows that the batteries are 29% SOC which is about right (26+26+26 +39 divided by 4)
I've contacted the installer and they have passed it on to Lux so I sent Lux some info to see if they can rectify it remotely.
    Watch this space...

My understanding is the lux takes soc from the first battery, not as a pack average.
I've found if you swap round the primary battery you will get a different report of soc.

One of mine stopped discharging a few weeks ago, lux said the updated the firmware to fix it.
A week later the other inverter did the same, I assume they resolved it by firmware again.

Only way for me to jolt it back was everything off and back on again.
Touch wood its been fine for a couple of weeks now

  • I've done the "everything off for an hour" thing about half-a-dozen times in the last couple of weeks but it hasn't fixed it. I'm hoping it's fixable remotely. The app shows a red warning that the battery isn't charged enough but it's 26%.
It seems strange that the battery only charges at 10w -20w.
I'm also trying to figure out how the bottom battery is 39% and the other three are at 26%. They were all equal a year ago and I thought they self-equalised.

Oh yeah I don't put em off for an hour, I isolate the 240v, then go along the batteries switching off 1 by one.
When they are all off, I go back to the primary and switch them all back on, then I press the run on the primary and see they all cascade on, after that I switch ac back on.

Very occasionally they go a little out of sync,  1 on 3 lights and the rest on 4 or vice versa, but usually right itself the next full cycle.

Lux were blaming my bms at one point, but I stated that the batteries were fine, and they never bring it up again.
Hopefully with Chinese New year out of the way you will get a speedy resolution

  • Strange things have happened overnight.
For reasons known only to itself the battery is now showing a SOC of 71% ??? It was only 26% when I went to bed last night. Have the battery fairies (friends of the tooth fairies) been during the night and given it a top-up?
But it's still not using the battery power to supply the house???

The figures that show on the app/website seem far from accurate. Yesterday I set my 4.8 battery to charge 5-8am., It was at 9% SOC before I went to sleep and the "today charging" said it put in 5.3kWh by 8am.

Seems my fairies have given me a bigger battery.

I think you'll find that that's about right because you lose about 10% converting AC to DC and then you lose another 10% when you change it back from DC to AC.
I've just checked and my battery SOC was  95%. Two minutes later it was 90%. Then, another two minutes later it was showing that the panels are producing 439w, the house is using 307w, 35w is going to the battery (which is now 93%) and 90w is being exported to the grid.
    Curiouser and curiouser innit?
I wonder if Lux are playing about with it remotely.

Alnat, mine has always done something similar. 9.6kwh battery pack running down to 10% SOC. When charging fully back to 100%, they take 10.2kwh when a 100% efficient system should need 8.7kwh, that's about 85% efficient. I see something similar on my car battery charging, which is about 93% efficient. There is an inverter loss, just the power needed to run the lux which would be around 3% (assumed 70w per hour) and there will be a loss forcing power into the batteries, especially when they are getting to fully charged. Again I've seen this with my car battery when at 98/99%, my systems say the car charger is drawing 3kw from the house but my car app says it's adding 1.5-1.8kw to the battery.
