Whenever I've gone to Wetherspoons I've always had a member of staff ask if everything is ok with the food.Robert19D said:Im not exactly one to complain in front of other guests and embarass the staff. Obviously it seems all you lot are. However thats my reasoning for filing the complaint online albeit wasnt happy with my food or experience.
That was your opportunity to say something.2 -
And the lesson of the story is "don't put swear words in an email to the CEO.
None of the wetherspoons near me have TVs or show sport.
You can always move tables .

Robert19D said:The pub manager wasnt available & was told to file a complaint through the website. That is their process apparently. There is always a 'duty manager' in charge in Wetherspoons.I've seen people make various complaints about food both at the table and at the till. They have generally been refunded (apart from those people who think it clever to eat half their meal then complain), had a meal replacement or food reheated.
You need to learn to complain at the appropriate time.Robert19D said:Im not exactly one to complain in front of other guests and embarass the staff. Obviously it seems all you lot are. Classy. How did you expect them to react to you being childish?Robert19D said:Aylesbury_Duck said:You went to Wetherspoons, had bad food, were "forced" to watch something informative instead of sport and then swore at them in your complaint? You sound made for each other. I'm surprised you haven't got your own parking space and chair.Read my thread properly. I said I waited 3 weeks after filing the complaint for them to resolve it and satisfy me. Today I lost my patience and told them to get a f-ing move on with my case. And they suddenly replied 2 hours later saying sorry we wont accept bad language and closed my case!
I did try to read your thread properly, it's just that my eyes were a bit blurry through the tears.
Anyway, you'll be back there soon enough.0 -
It's not about making a scene, it's about getting what your ordered. I've never been in a situation where if my food was cold on arrival a quick word with the waiter and it would've been replaced, and that includes Wetherspoons. Sounds to me that you decided to come with some petulant reasons to try and get a freebie at the end of your meal and they weren't having any of it.Robert19D said:Im not exactly one to complain in front of other guests and embarass the staff. From their website "Do you show sport? On occasions, pubs may show major sporting events, with or without sound. Please contact the pub you wish to visit for confirmation of any events planned to be shown. Most of our pubs have screens showing the news, usually with subtitles."0

It's perfectly possible to make a complaint without embarrassing anyone. If you feel the staff ignored you, and you were happy with that, I'm really lost for words..Robert19D said:Im not exactly one to complain in front of other guests and embarass the staff.
