Parking Eye parking ticket

Hi, bit of a newbie here.
Please go easy,
Me and my partner went to a children's party at a local play centre which is located on the same site as  a Genting casino. We added our details to the play centres computer however we have received a fine from Parking Eye saying we parked on the casino and not the play centre. I want to appeal what is the best way to appeal this because it says you only can make one appeal?

Cheers for any help

Parking Eys's signs leave much to be desireds.  Several judges have dismissed cases because of it, see for yourself

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP, it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and has been known to get the charge cancelled.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.

Appeal using the template in blue text from the first post of the sticky thread for NEWBIES that asks you to read it before posting. Send it unedited from the keeper.

Get pics of the site and signage.

Complain to your MP about this unregulated scam.

Slightly off topic - my appeal to PE was declined.
When I logged on online to pay, I expected to see a reduced amount charge because I appealed to PE as soon as I got the notice. My expectation was that the appeal would freeze the parking charge timing and if it was unsuccessful I'd have a week to pay the lower amount still. Is that not the case?

They might do and hopefully so, but that isn’t for you to say...

Yes it is for us to say, because all landowner clients can cancel a ParkingEye PCN.  There is an email in their User Manual and no deadline to do it - they can ALL cancel pre-POPLA stage.

Which PPC do you work for, onthewall?  Your posts are really misleading for newbies, and some just plain wrong and judgemental.

When I logged on online to pay,
You did WHAAAT?  Whaaaaat?  where exactly did you see that as the next step?  What happened when you complained to the Play Centre and tried the Casino as well, and told them how this is affecting you and how intimidating it is.

  • Hi
I received a PCN after the following circumstances.
Attempts to pay on arrival at the car park were unsuccessful as the both machines were out of order.  One had a notice on the display and the other would not accept any coins, the slot was blocked and no money could be inserted. {video evidence of attempts to pay}.

At the conclusion of my night shift AND in a effort to do the right thing, I approached the machine, again with video recording and attempted to pay.  Low and behold, my money was accepted and a ticket issued.  By this time the need to park was no longer there. I took a photo of the ticket and went on my merry way.

To my horror within days I received the PCN.  In short I had entered an incorrect digit of my registration plate.
I've appealed the PCN which has been refused on the grounds my reg number is incorrect!!  I'm now told as a token of goodwill they require I pay a reduced amount of £20 which I am strongly opposed to.  Yes, I've got a digit wrong.  That doesn't alter the fact that I'm accepting it was my vehicle.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

    Regards

    ideally start your own thread

which parking company ? Parking Eye ?

download and read the relecvant CoP from either the BPA or the IPC websites, specifically reading about keying errors

if the BPA CoP is the correct one , you will see why they offered £20 for a major keying error, but should have cancelled for a minor keying error , see section 17

Why on earth should you pay them anything,, they are trying to scam you, their signs are unlawful.
