My offer is to start on 1st June 2020.

£5 mmm nice incentive, just how the current Reward account started before 5 became 3 became £2. I’d bet £3.50 or two redundant direct debits that within a year this fattened up offer will be cut due to current market conditions!

Mine is also from June 1st, have to let them know by 15th May according to my letter that I've just checked.  The phone number is still not working, however.
Edit:  Have now manged to register.  And it is automated.  As well as deciding which reward you want, you also have to chose how to earn it - either by keeping £5k in the account, or by spending £500pm on your debit card!
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?

If your account is paperless, the letter comes as a PDF in the inbox of your online banking / app.

I've just checked, it's not in my inbox either.

Out of interest, how long, approximately, have you held your Reward account?

Over 35 years with the Halifax when I took out my now paid off mortgage.
I think I changed it to a reward account 10 or so years ago.
I've only been keeping it for the reward, once that stops it's bye bye Halifax.

Thanks, that's interesting! In normal times, you could probably complain that you have not been notified but as we're not in normal times, you might just want to take the pragmatic approach and register for whatever follow-on offer tickles your fancy.

Those of us who had a letter were given 0345 129 9733 (no number to ring from abroad)  to ring by May 15 if we want to keep the Reward account, and to register our chosen reward. I have no idea why the information on the Halifax website varies.

There are a few payments which don’t count for Reward Extras offers:

    • When you take cash out of a cash machine, branch or Post Office counter.
    • When you make a money transfer to another account.

Any payments being queried or disputed won't count towards the £500 or £5,000. And we’ll only count payments that leave your account by the last day of the month.

But all purchases on your card count. This includes purchases you make online, in-store and abroad.

You can also use digital wallets, like Apple Pay, Google Pay or similar schemes, as long as they’re linked to your registered debit card.

Got this directly from Halifax site.

Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but do debit card payments to a credit card count towards the £500 a month spend?

It has, several times, along with lots of other possibilities. But the truth is no-one knows for sure yet, and won't do for some time.
