They don't leave a hard search for new accounts if you already have a current account. They do fraud check though via National Hunter, Synectics Solutions and CIFAS.trient said:
Pretty sure you get credit checked for opening additional accounts.funkycredit said:I've got 3x Rewards, as do a few others. Unlikely you'll be downgraded as it's all done via online banking with no credit search so instantly opened too.3 -
They didn't for me, even when I reopened a first current account with them after switching mine away under the less generous previous reward scheme.trient said:

You could do similar recycling money between Ratesetter. Make a deposit late on in the evening, then withdraw straight away & money would be back in account by around 5pm next day.Fingerbobs said:I'm probably one of the three people in the country who misses Sainsbury's SaveBack. Debit Card deposits were available for withdrawal the next day, and withdrawals happened on the same day, so you could get your money back from a Debit Card deposit in under 24 hours. (And it looked just like a normal purchase in Sainsbury's, which also had advantages.)
Didn't Ratesetter close down? they sent all my deposit money with accrued interest back and cannot put any new money, so basically the account is closed down.
Yeah, hence the use of past tense 'could'0 -
Sorry I know this has been discussed before, but this is a long thread and the Search facility is either useless or I'm not using it properly.Ed-1 said:

Can you claim the switching bonus on a new Reward account if you already hold a Reward account? I've never claimed a switching bonus from Halifax before.0 -
Yes provided you're accepted for a new account.Fingerbobs said:

Just thinking this might be an easy £100 for switching my soon-to-be-defunct M&S current account, as the bonus doesn't seem to require any DDs or SOs on the source account - unless I've missed something?0 -

Rewards account doesnt require DD or SO, but need to spend £500 on your debit card or keep £5000 in your account each day of the month and you can choose the monthly reward (there are 4 in total) which will be fixed for 1 year (you can change in following year). All info in below link. When you apply for the account, you will be asked to switch and also select your reward at the end.Just to be aware of, I got some technical error when I applied for the first time through my online banking then after few hours I tried again on another browser and worked fine. This is very random and dont think anything is wrong with your applciation, just try after few hours or next day and try on different browser.

Nope. Not with LBG - I've got 7 bank accounts across the group and had a single hard search - made when I originally opened my first Hfx Rewards act.trient said:

Lucky you. I got hard checked a few years ago when I opened accounts with Lloyds and Halifax. The Halifax account was later closed, but got hard checked again this time. 3 hard searches with 2 banks across LBG.funkycredit said:Nope.
