Let them get on with it....and what I'm gonna write here would get me chucked off the forum but you can guess!!!;) :rotfl:
you really dont understand do you ? this is about pensions not pay rises ....... what do you do for a living i wonder?0 -
BAA worker - maybe, but what you really are is an arrogant selfish !!!!. You and yours have ruined Christmas for me and my family now go ahead and ruin a lifetimes planned trip for all of us. Do your worst, my only satisfaction is in knowing that if you carry on with your ruining militant display then sooner rather than later Ferrovial will do for you.
In a position like yours you have a duty of care to your fellow man, I don't have a final salary pension, look around not many of us actually do, but I am not to blame for any dispute between you and your employer any more than you would be between me and mine!
so if they said they will cut my wages by 75% that would be ok as well? just roll over rustybbb0 -

So, got it at last. The strike by existing employees is because they are stopping new employees contributing which will mean that existing employees won't have their future pensions funded by new employees?!
That's easier to understand but harder to justify such draconian strike action -not 1, not 2, but 3 strikes - don't do things by half, do you? - especially if the fund is in such good shape and there are other options which can be negotiated to preserve existing employees' future pensions, like increasing employee conributions, which many have been faced with (but that does impact on pay, doesn't it? i.e. less in your pocket) or increasing employer contributions (yes, I know pigs might fly and they'll have plenty of room to do so if the action goes ahead!).
I just think you have gone too far too fast - irrespective of the insensitive remarks attributed to BAA and its bosses.
But if the pension fund is in such good shape, why worry about new entrants to it.0 -

i think all employees could accept if there was some sort of negotiations but the chairman seems to have a view he will do what ever he wants no discussions. by way latest offer upped to 12yrs from 10yrs for employers on fs scheme, but as stated by previous posts not really worth paper its written on because if the company was sold that could be worthless. just out of interest it has been suggested by the unions that management postpone the closure till march when a 3 yearly pension review is due out , then act accordingly if the fund is in trouble etc etc however management reaction was they would consider postponing till march if we called off strike action but regardless of the review good or bad they would still shut present scheme in march no discussion. im afraid this is not good management. one last point the pension is in such good shape because it is constantly back filled with new employees money.0 -
