Grievance with VW

No, tell me more about your daughter's new convertible.
It's not boring. Quite the opposite, it's a genuinely intriguing situation. It's just that you have attracted lots of people willing to try and help, and simultaneously confused and bemused them with a rambling account of events which is still unfolding, making claims about an independent report that sounded promising but then wasn't quite what you led people to believe it was and generally being all over the place.
It's impossible for people to give informed advice when you post as you do and when you're actually after self-validation rather than advice. As I advised in the very first reply, you need to set out the full facts, preferably in a chronological sequence, leaving out nothing. Stop insulting people who ask questions or don't immediately ask "you ok, hun?", stick to the facts and you might, just might get some helpful information to help your daughter's case.3 -

This is hard for me because I’ve never done this before but I will have a go.
1 - she brought the car in June
2 - after 2 months the panoramic roof would close
3 - so took it back to VW they said she had damaged the roof mechanism
4 - she got in touch with VW head office
5 - in the meantime she took the car to an independent garage they did a diagnostic check and said there was many electrical faults .
6 - went back to VW who closed the roof manually but couldn’t fully close and checked the electrical faults but said they couldn’t find anything
7 - the garage who did the checks rang VW and told them what they had found.
8 - this was still being dealt with Head Office because they were still adamant that she had damaged the mechanism and would hav3 to pay £1800 for a new one.
9 - she was still fighting her case months had gone by when driving her car 2 weeks ago when we had a call with my daughter in tears because the wind had got under her roof and blew the whole roof off
10 - while she was in tears a police car came along pulled over they said they would get the traffic police to try and locate her roof but told her to get herself home and the car has been in our garage ever since
11 - she contact head office on the Monday informed them what had happened, they said they would get the car in again for another check , the check was booked for 19th March but they called today to say they were cancelling the check as they didn’t believe that the roof would have come off and believed she had removed it herself.
i hope I have added the points correctly0 -

Was the independent report done to ascertain wether there was a problem with the roof or just looking for any generic faults as it seems they didn’t mention the roof in the report . If the roof hasn’t been closed since August has water got inside the car. I also think your daughter should have dealt with this differently and fear it may be too late to get a resolution from VW. On the face of it it does seem like she has been treated badly by the dealer ( was it a VW dealer rather than someone like Arnold shark. )0

Perhaps you can inform posters what model of VW car she purchased with panoramic roof?
Perhaps it has history of faults?
