Covid-19 - New US Cases Set to Soar? Impact On Markets?

Trying to predict day to day market moves is not a good use of time.....
The CDC have more or less admitted it's not containable by their words and actions. Trump is doing his usual sock puppet stuff, though a stuffed toy would probably have made more useful observations than his statements last week.0

Dow closed 25400 on Friday. IG have it to open somewhere between 25210 and 25230 looking at their live prices in last few minutes. FTSE100 and smallcap flattish, FTSE250 down less than a percent. Hardly carnage but we shall see how the week pans out and whether anyone really cares about the first New York cases and whatever else is on the cards.Alistair31 said:

A GP acquaintance told me yesterday that anyone taking ACE inhibitors (for high blood pressure) is considered vulnerable.Lungboy said:

Is it possible the vulnerable demographic in US could be different to say China...?
In China the underlying health conditions could be mainly related to (very) old age - most very old people everywhere are going to have an UHC at some point, for sure something's gonna get us all in the end !
In USA it may not be only the very old, it may also be the very overweight, many of whom will already
have heart conditions, so the effected demographic could be much younger and have a greater impact on many levels....
