Ooh I sent off a job application too! It closes at the end of the week, so I guess I'll find out in the next couple of weeks if I am selected for an interview.

Sorry to hear about your dad, glad he is OK. He sounds like he has been a great influence on your financial outlook.

I do love an Inky blue wall! How did the painting turn out? Oh and well done for getting a new 5k PB - I think I'm just getting slower..

Well done for just giving the job application a go, fingers crossed you will be successful. I applied for a job a few months back but had to pull out because I have to work from home at the moment and don't know when this will end. Potential new job couldn't accommodate this. I will be looking again in a few months.

Promising discussion at my current workplace about a possible promotion today. Lack of progression has been a real pain point, not just for me, other good people leave over it. But the conversation today sounded very promising and could lead to line management experience etc. Interesting, and I'm happy to pursue it. I don't know if it will be a role I actually want, and I told my boss we'd need to construct a job spec that covered what needed to be done and also what was not my responsibility and should sit elsewhere in the company. All in all, positive. Hoping for good outcomes from that and the app I put in on Monday night to make choices difficult!

Tidying up finances and returning money to people for the friends' hen party I had to cancel recently. Such a palaver returning money to loads of people and it's not a small amount so wanted to make sure I got it right! But this did lead me to a good update session with YNAB. I moved money around various budgets; optimistically topped up the holiday budget included! But means I have some more cash available that I feel comfortable putting to the mortgage. I have my EF, and other pots of money earmarked for things (all earning paltry interest in a Marcus account).

Just another £100 OP today, but that tips me over the 6% of my mortgage balance paid off, woop! 6.04% now to be precise! It's also knocked my daily interest down to £9.50. I think my DD next week with the £150 regualr OP included will push me down into the £160s as well! All going in the right direction! These little payments are addictive, but it's a good habit compared to other addictions!

Oh, been a good week on Prolific too, which I did not expect after a quiet one last week. Hopefully will reach the payout threshold and will have another £5-6 to OP on Friday!

Wow at @frankersBri you are doing so well. That’s really good news on the job front so many choices becoming available! Welldone on the gains of reduced interest due to the regular payments! Wow keep it up!

Prolific is a funny one, I've had barely anything all week and nothing being approved too. Then today I've had a couple come through and suddenly all my outstanding approvals clear... It always lurches back into life, just can never predict when!

Great work on getting 6% of your mortgage paid off already 😀

All sounds very promising at work, let's hope something you want comes from it, although there's no harm in window shopping in the interim.

That's an impressive reduction and good to see the interest payment going down too, in theory you can up your O/P by the difference too.

Another OP of £14.50 today, taking my total for June to £800.19 which I am incredibly proud of! I didn't hit my Prolific payout amount in time on Friday so there will be a small payout tomorrow instead which I'll send over at the start of July when I do my mass accounts reconciliation on YNAB.

I also opened a Lifetime ISA today. Threw £50 at it to get it opened. It's paying more interest than my Marcus account, and that's before the Government tops it up by 25%. Need to do some numebr crunching to make sure I'm happy to lock £4k away that will be untouchable for at least 24 years (lest I pay a penalty!). I think I am happy to take that out of my savings, feels like a good investment to be making towards retirement. I could put the full £4k annual allowance in and then split my spare cash each month between OPs and savings to build the liquid savings back up a bit.

Have a first telephone call with HR about the job I applied for tomorrow too, fingers crossed!
