Yes, but those less informed may misconstrue your comment as advice that they should commence proceedings against the parking agency

  • Dear m19lka, thank you for your clear and informative posts. The process you have been through here and in court is admirable. I too received a notice for the Spinningfields estate for pulling over for a few minutes. Will follow your guidance. I read the stickys, but found some conflicting advice in there, but your posts have clarified a route to justice. Your polite responses are admirable too.

On the public highway you can still stop to load and unload passengers on DYLs with 'no loading' stripes. It's red lines that mean no stopping at all.

Do you mean kerb blips?  I believe you can only load/unload on DYL if there are NO kerb blips or there may be only one, in which case the loading/unloading restriction is between certain hours which should be on a label on a pole.

I agree with Mr L, IIMU that, where there are marks on the top of the kerb, no parking is allowed

Yep. I agree you can't stop to load your shopping, but you can stop to unload your nearest and dearest to send her shopping! 😄

No parking is allowed, no loading or unloading is allowed (during certain, or at all times), unless it's a passenger alighting or boarding.

No you can't. Kerb blips with a double yellow are like double red lines.

We had the same debate earlier this year, with you eventually agreeing I was correct.

Here's also what the Highway Code says:
Yellow marks on the kerb or at the edge of the carriageway indicate that loading or unloading is prohibited at the times shown on the nearby black and white plates. You may stop while passengers board or alight.  If no days are indicated on the signs the restrictions are in force every day including Sundays and Bank Holidays.
