What's causing the US indexes to rally today? BBC news website shows Dow Jones up over 5% today. & The other two up over 4% (at the moment).
Markets never go straight up or down.
Google "Relief Rally" and "Unfilled Gaps".
Setting up for the next down leg probably.
Outcome of "Super Tuesday" should move the markets, and Jobs Report.
    Trend has changed IMHO.

Or maybe Fridays reversal in the last hour was a sign of a bottom ? Thats normally how they are formed. The reversal candle with the long tail can be seen in the link.

Markets seem to be spiking up a bit again. Just a little spike before another crash in the wrong direction or have we weathered the storm? What does everyone think?

I think the clowns in China and at the WHO need to face some consequences for this complete !!!!!!.  Effective quarantine could have worked at the start.

Maybe I was too early for what's about to happen but my strategy of tilting into risk last week seems to have delivered satisfactory results and I look at my accounts this morning (with a market adjustment for the funds that have not yet declared yet) and their overall valuation seem to be within the normal volatility profile. Nothing spectacular but its not obvious that a correction has occurred. I guess now I need to tilt back out of risk and hope the market falls again for when the Junior ISAs complete their transfer.

I'm sure you would have done it much better as a Chinese leader, with your finger on the pulse of a couple of people getting sick in your nation of 1.4bn people.

Fortunately as an authoritarian government they have the ability to close down cities and transport links, much better than a damn libertarian could do it. Unfortunately the media control and censorship within an authoritarian state can suffocate negative press which might have caused people to take better avoiding actions if they'd had better knowledge of what was happening.

People who had contracted the virus had already left China. Was always going to bubble elsewhere.

I see the RNS for RCP re the NAV (can I squeeze any more 3LA's in?) appears to be having a super effect on the price in this positive market day.

Fed has cut interest rates in a surprise move. G7 ready to take appropriate action to maintain price stability and growth.
Provides an underpin to the markets to remain rational.
