My wife is the registered keeper, I was the driver, the claim was brought against me so I'm defending it in my name.
I assumed incorrectly that it was obvious I was defending a claim brought against me.
My fault and I apologise for any upset caused here, I certainly didn't intend to waste anyone's time.

OK, so early doors you admitted to driving, OK, now we know.  We were trying to avert disaster here!

Too many posters who were driving, defend thinking they ''just can take it over and defend the claim'', even though the Defendant named is the registered keeper, a different person!  Seen it more than once.  People often rock up here, talking about 'my claim' and 'my defence' when in fact, we later find out that they aren't the Defendant.

I think your defence looks fine but you need to re-read the TEMPLATE DEFENCE thread properly because it clearly tells you on a numbered list, NOT to use MCOL to submit the defence.  And so did the replies on your own thread, and yet there you were about to let a decently structured defence get chewed up and the formatting spat out by MCOL with half of it missing due to the character limit.

That's why we say DO NOT TOUCH MCOL AS REGARDS THE DEFENCE, NO EVEN GOING THERE, NOT EVEN PUTTING A FULL STOP IN.

Please also go and read the stuff in the NEWBIES thread under the red heading: 'IMPORTANT - KNOW WHAT HAPPENS WHEN'

Don't be that poster who comes back within weeks asking if the DQ can be emailed...or whether to agree to Mediation... etc.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks, there's a lot more to this than I imagined when I decided to defend myself, I can see why people might just pay up and move on.

You will learn a lot from the process which could save you money in due course.
You have now got a defence that you understand and can argue in the hearing and that is the most important.

Next is the WS which is easier than the defence.

In my opinion you should have a fair chance with this because you have not done anything wrong and hopefully the judge will see that. That said it is a lottery.

Just as a matter of interest a friend of mine received a PCN when we went to the Hippodrome several years ago to see the Nutcracker. It was a fluttering ticket and a council car park so it was cancelled. It does spoil your evening somewhat though.

Hopefully though the judge will prefer a different genre of theatre othewise they may be accused of being biased. :)

The Nutcracker is now streaming for a small fee.

     you seem very experienced! 😄

Probably more than most here, but mainly as a claimant.

I have taken a tenant to court, a landlord when I lived in rented accommodation, an estate agent, Amazon, Fiat, a dentist, (bargepole acted for me on this one),  and been a defendant in an RTA case.  I am currently  taking another estate agent to court over a property sale in Spain.  I like going to court.

You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
