FuelPecker Discount Card

anybody use one?
Website claims that you get between 3-6p off a litre at Esso and 1p of at shell petrol stations.
The only thing is that you link your debit card to your Fuel Pecker Card and pay with the Fuel Pecker one - the transaction then comes out of your bank account.
The only drawback I can see is that usually when I buy fuel I sometime pick up a pint of milk or similar - with this I guess I'd have to do 2 transactions - but for 3p a litre I could save £1.50 when I fill up ( I use unleaded )

Or just buy petrol at supermarkets which are probably already 3-6p cheaper.
  • Hi. Has anyone signed up for this as cautious about giving out credit card details to new schemes?

Interesting 2 posts on the same company.
Website gives no information only a signup page.
But seems to be offered via many clubs or workplace schemes.

  • Petrol prices.com emailed me about it yesterday.
6p per litre off at my local Esso seems tempting.

Do you only drive from your doorstep to the Esso garage?  If so, the card makes perfect sense.

But I find I pass many, many supermarkets as I drive around. Or, sometimes, I choose to fill-up my car when I visit the supermarket to do my shopping.

Been using it for a few months with no issues. It takes a couple of days to come out the bank account. You can use nector with this fuel card so a added bonus.

I would imagine Esso etc. pay them a commission.  It's just a loyalty card - people think they're getting a bargain so go out of their way to use Esso without thinking about how it would actually still be cheaper buying the fuel from a rival petrol station.
