Argh, how frustrating - my oldest YBS account was opened on October 5th 2022. I wonder if branches might be a bit more lenient?
I remember these posts from about 14 months ago when they released their previous loyalty regular saver!
Its worth keeping a long term account open with each organisation with the minimum amount in it
That was what caused me to open the account on Oct 5th  it had sat on my 'to do' list for longer than it should have.
  • Already made a withdrawal from my Christmas 23 YBS regular saver. I understand you can also close it. If I do, can anyone confirm I won't lose any interest? Thanks.

  • Tried to open a Tipton & Coseley RS this morning via the app. Got to the very end of the process and got on-screen message that they need to confirm my identity and address and could I please ring them. Haven't got time to do that now  but if it means sensding documents, even copies, in the post, I won't proceed.

Usual problems with YBS.  Although I have been a member for more than 16 years, and have had at least one active account throughout that time, none of my open accounts is more than a year old.

In March when I applied for the Loyalty ISA, I was told I had to apply by post.  I instead went to a branch 20 miles away, and they opened an account for me straight away.

This time, the website allows me to go throught the motions, but ends with an error message "Sorry, we're unable to retrieve your details at the moment.  Please try again."  Retry fails, and when you click on "back to savings products" it tells you "Sorry, this product is no longer available" - which is rubbish.

I've managed to make a telephone appointment with a branch tomorrow for them to open an account.

The call handler at YBS didn't know what the problem was.  I humoured her by following her suggestion to log out, clear cookies, and log in again.  That didn't work of course, and when I suggested what I thought the problem was, she agreed and offered the telephone appointment.

As stated before, always keep one old account open with YBS.

  • YBS - are multiple fundings ok or do they only want the £500 in one go?

No stated restrictions on deposits other than you mustn't exceed £500 pcm.  So multiple smaller amounts should be fine.

Yes, multiple fundings are fine with YBS.

New TIPTON RS opened yesterday. Does your deposit from yesterday show in the account yet? Mine doesn't.

Tipton RS - "Allegro" is correct in that it often takes a day for deposits to new accounts to show up. I opened mine yesterday via App and yesterdays deposit is showing today.

It also looks like they have resurrected the new website layout again (the one which didn't work last time).

I've tried applying twice, I get to the "Open account" button on the "Review & Confirm" page, at which point the site dumps me out to the main login screen.

If that's what it is caused by, going back to the 'new' website just before launching a likely very popular account won't have been the best business decision YBS have made lately.

My oldest YBS account is 26th September......I might be lucky......it's a week today but I suspect it'll be pulled before then.
snap - same date for me too... looks like if I hadn't upgraded my internet saver+ 12 to 13 in June, I would have qualified... opened a rainy day on 26th Sept, so if this is still available this time next week, I should qualify then.
I did send them a secure message, but it will probably be the end of the week before I get a reply... if it get's withdrawn before then, c'est la vie.
