snow62 said:Just catching up after being away for the weekend. Viewing all the Monmouthshire posts with wry amusement. I applied for both just after they went live, when links went straight to online application without showing any criteria. When the links disappeared and then reappeared, it became apparent that I didn't qualify for the Exclusive as I hadn't had an open account for nearly a year. Nevertheless, I've received my passbook and added the account in 'My Accounts'. Meanwhile I have to return the signature form for the account for which I was eligible, the standard RS. Unlike some, I rather enjoy the quirkiness! To be a qualifying member you must:- Be an existing savings member (sole or joint) or a mortgage customer. Your savings account must have money in it.- Your account needs to have transactions within the last 24 months.
Fortunately the 1 year requirement doesn’t seem to apply for this accountIf you want me to definitely see your reply, please tag me @forumuser7 Thank you.
N.B. Verify anything you read before acting on it to protect yourself because you are responsible for any action you consequently make... DYOR, YMMV etc.3 -
I've now had my second "New account added successfully" message from Monmouthshire, which makes sense as I'd applied for both RS accounts. But neither are yet showing up in my online banking profile (the first was on Saturday so there's been a full working day since for the site to update).I guess they are working through a huge pile of applications.0

I applied for a MBS easy saver last Tuesday in the hope that I would qualify for the regular savers that were launching on the Weds.I didn't realise at the time that you can’t get instant acceptance online snd have to wait for postal acceptance. On the Weds i applied for the 7% reg saver and also chanced my luck and applied for the exclusive 8% reg saver. I have heard nothing from them since, no email and no letters, although our postal service at present is shocking, due to staff cut backs and we are lucky if we get mail once a week, but thats another story. So i went to our mail delivery office this morning snd collected my mail. I only had one letter from MBS which contained a letter thanking me for opening an exclusive regular saver with them and also a savings passbook. No forms to send back to them that others have received. Doesn't make sense, as I have never had accounts with them previously. At least I can fund this regular saver this month by bank transfer, as I now have the account No.2

I applied last Wednesday for both accounts, it was pm for the first application and early evening for the second, so I wasnt the first off the starting blocks. Not heard anything....no email, no post, no accounts.
So what ? I couldn't really care less, it'll take as long as it takes. ....I'm not jealous or bitter.....just not a very good liar !

Why ? If the first payment gets made in September then the account will run for 12 months from September.0

Their website states
"Published 3 August 2023The Society has responded to today’s 0.25% Bank of England base rate rise by increasing interest rates across its range of savings accounts to help members maximise their savings."
to be implemented on "some" accounts on 1 Sept, it seems
Regular Monthly Saver, Green Regular Saver (NLA) and Special Occasion Saver (NLA) will all rise from 4.5% to 4.6%.
