    I renewed and closed both Halifax and BOS yesterday.

    The only problem I had was you to have to be logged into BOS to renew the BOS account, and logged into Halifax to renew the Halifax account.

    Also, make sure you are not trying to renew to a type of account that you already hold.  Halifax sets up a maturity account when you open the Regular Saver.  Close any unused accounts, log out and in again, and try again.

    I just renewed with the money in the regular saver,  they basically use exactly the same account details and change the account type from regular saver to everyday saver and then add the accrued interest.

    The halifax regular saver did not allow withdrawals at all.

    once done I quickly opened the new regular saver, all no issues

    With Halifax, do I just renew it, then? I haven't actually tried to renew it yet...
    @SJMALBA

     As twadds123 says, you can't withdraw from the Halifax RS.  Just renew it.  Then withdraw from the account you have renewed to.  Then close that account.  You might have to log out and log in again to see the interest.

    Ah, I see. Thanks @twadds123 and @Nick_C - I'll give that a go.

    EDIT: Worked perfectly.  :)

    Does Principality BS have any track record of increasing rates on fixed-rate regular savers? (Some banks do, despite them being 'Fixed'.)

    I want to close my LLoyds R/S and get the interest added.  I've transferred out the majority of the money leaving a £1 balance.  How do I get the interest to date paid and close?

    Not in my experience (over many years).

    Renew into an EA account (any EA account will do), then close from there. If the interest doesn't appear straight away in the account, transfer the £1 out of the account and the interest should appear.
