Do they still have issues?  My issue 7 automatically changed to "variable" on 24/05/23 and I haven't seen any new issues released after that date.

I renewed and closed both Halifax and BOS yesterday.

The only problem I had was you to have to be logged into BOS to renew the BOS account, and logged into Halifax to renew the Halifax account.

Also, make sure you are not trying to renew to a type of account that you already hold.  Halifax sets up a maturity account when you open the Regular Saver.  Close any unused accounts, log out and in again, and try again.
I got a letter in Feb when my RS matured saying they'd move the money into the associated easy saver and "renew" it. After a couple of months I realised the renewed account had a much lower interest rate (1.odd IIRC). I wasn't eligible for a new one, and contacted the bank who confirmed it was correct (in the small print of the letter I was sent). I couldn't close the RS, and after contacting the bank was told I had to close the EA and then the RS would convert itself into an EA, which I could then close.

Hadn't occurred I'd be eligible to open another, but I can confirm that once your old ones are closed  you can indeed open a new RS at the full 5.5%

Having opened the Santander Edge Saver, I intended to move the money in my BoS and Halifax regular savers to it.

Following the prescribed method (moving money from RS, then renewing it etc.) worked fine for BoS.

Unfortunately, with Halifax, having seen mention of the problems some had, and the suggestion to not have an existing account of the same type that the RS would renew to, I (stupidly, it seems) closed the unused, maturity Everyday Saver, which seems to have been a mistake, as I do not have an option for the RS to move money out of it, either through Halifax or BoS online banking.

Is this money now stuck in the RS until it matures, or is there another way to now access the money (perhaps, after the mistake I've made, now renewing it?)

Are you saying that, when you are logged into Halifax, it is not allowing you to renew the Regular Saver to a different account?

    Thanks for the reply.

No, there is no option to move money out of it (unlike the BoS monthly saver) - I was under the impression that you weren't suppose to renew before moving all the money out of it?
With Halifax, do I just renew it, then? I haven't actually tried to renew it yet...

I just renewed with the money in the regular saver,  they basically use exactly the same account details and change the account type from regular saver to everyday saver and then add the accrued interest.

The halifax regular saver did not allow withdrawals at all.

once done I quickly opened the new regular saver, all no issues

As twadds123 says, you can't withdraw from the Halifax RS.  Just renew it.  Then withdraw from the account you have renewed to.  Then close that account.  You might have to log out and log in again to see the interest.

    Ah, I see. Thanks @twadds123 and @Nick_C - I'll give that a go.

    EDIT: Worked perfectly.  :)
