Although West Bromwich do offer a 5% (fixed) Adult Regular Saver and a 5.50% (fixed) Children's Regular Saver.CompulsiveSaver said:..., with some shockers like West Brom only paying 3.1% on it's access regular saver!
The Access Regular Saver, is because it gives you exactly that, hence the trade off in interest rate.0 -
OK, fair enough! but like I said at the end of my post, it was from a comparison site, rather than going to each of their websites, but still an access account, paying less than instant access!!! there is something wrong there!wiseonesomeofthetime said:

Darlington BS Rate Increases according to MoneyFacts:
- Regular Monthly Saver -> 4.50%
- Darly Young Saver -> 4.05%
Not great, but better than nothing I suppose. Hopefully they also increase the Green RS etc.
EDIT: Per their website:

My two Darlington SO RS accounts both mature this week, I won't be opening anymore though I'll keep my easy access savings account as a toe in the water.0

No matter, I will close them and wait for the cheque to arrive. That, along with the now poor interest rate, means that I can make my monies work better for me. They are gone!

The ONLY things that's keeping Darlington in the frame is that they permit 4 WDs and closure so they are better than EA accounts currently and if you've accrued a high balance even better, especially if you've already exhausted all other RS options, however the gap between them and EA is closing so moving to NA a/c is getting closer all the time unless funds are needed quicker.2

LEEK BS Savings Rates
Interest rates on all of our variable rate savings accounts will increase by 0.15%, with effect from 1 August 2022.
and the justification for such a paltry increase is.....
Interest rates on a number of our variable rate savings accounts were last increased on 13 June 2022 by up to 0.25%.
LEEK BS - wrong year, we are in 2023 not 20220
