Buckinghamshire BS regular saver has now risen to 3.85% (up from 3.65%).
    See: https://www.bucksbs.co.uk/getfile/12182
Thanks. Have reduced my monthly payment to £10 and will withdraw the rest idc
It astounds me that so many are paying less than an Instant access rate, on this page there is Tier 1 (3.9%) and Tier 2 (4.1%) of the Principality First Home Steps Account Online, looking elsewhere Mansfield BS paying 4.25% on 30 day regular saver, Chorley paying 4% on their regular saver and I think I seen somewhere else a few more like Swansea and Monmouth Building societies are still both only paying 3.75% on their regular savers, with some shockers like West Brom only paying 3.1% on it's access regular saver! I suppose the savers might be stuck until maturity, but it will hardly be encouragement for renewal after maturity.
    * apologies if any of the above rates are out of date, but that is what they are on the comparison site.  OK, Rant over  :D

It probably doesn’t help when people like me continue to maintain minimum balances/pay-ins on these kind of accounts in order to retain a relationship with the provider ;)

I’m much more relaxed now all of my RS’s are at a higher rate than my mortgage but I still hold accounts with places such as the Vernon, Stafford Railway and the Coventry who have in the recent past had market leading accounts but are no longer as competitive,

..., with some shockers like West Brom only paying 3.1% on it's access regular saver!
Although West Bromwich do offer a 5% (fixed) Adult Regular Saver and a 5.50% (fixed) Children's Regular Saver.

The Access Regular Saver, is because it gives you exactly that, hence the trade off in interest rate.

OK, fair enough! but like I said at the end of my post, it was from a comparison site, rather than going to each of their websites, but still an access account, paying less than instant access!!! there is something wrong there!

Beverley BS: As of Thursday 13th July all Variable interest rates will be increasing.

Anyone know what the Monthly Saver is going to yet?

My two Darlington SO RS accounts both mature this week, I won't be opening anymore though I'll keep my easy access savings account as a toe in the water.

The Darlington Special Occasion regular savers don't have a specific term.

    Thanks.
Just re-read the T&Cs - it quotes an amount after 12 months which is why I assumed a term, then at the end there's reference to a longer term.  No matter, I will close them and wait for the cheque to arrive. That, along with the now poor interest rate, means that I can make my monies work better for me. They are gone!

I closed my 3 Special occasion accounts months ago, got fed up waiting. So much available now over 5%.
I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
    There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.
