Useful benefit of the new Skipton - deposit by debit card which takes care of half the requirements for the Halifax/Natwest monthly cash-back.
Experiencing difficulties with depositing by card. Tried 2 different cards.

    Anyone else?
Must be Halifax or Natwest card. Have you tried those?

The debit card must be registered to same address as your Skipton account or payment will fail with the message 'Try again later', which of course won't work later either.

Solution is to tick the box 'Use someone else's card' and manually enter the debit card address.

@schiff so what is this monthly cashback that you think you can get by using a NatWest Debit Card to pay in to a savings account?

I made a couple of deposits into my Skipton Tracker savings account this morning using a Debit Card (that was neither NatWest nor Halifax).

In the past Saffron does not allow you to have two RSA with them at the swam time. When you take your chance, they will close close it in about a week time so waste of time applying. But this new 9% is different. Is that correct ??
"You can only hold one Members Month Loyalty Saver, as well as one regular savings product at any time with Saffron."

There have been occasions in the past where Saffron allowed a 'special' RS account alongside one of the standard/small RS accounts. (i.e. two in total)

The last time I remember was the 170th Birthday RS account.

It worked after I ticked the ‘Use another persons card’ box, despite paying with a card that’s in my name.

i think it’s because my account is so old that my personal details aren’t up to date.

The Skipton account has a very low barrier of entry for such a high rate of interest, and early access (through closure only) is permitted without penalty. I may actually visit my local branch to open this, unless the process is easier over the telephone.
I opened it online in a couple of minutes. You can pay in by debit card so another way to get towards the £500 monthly debit card payments needed for the fiver from the Halifax.

YBS are launching a regular saver at 4.5%.
Looks like no point for me to apply as I already have Christmas, which is better than this one.
    • You can only hold one Regular eSaver or Regular Saver account in your name.
    • If you are named as Main Holder on more than one Regular eSaver account, the most recent account opened will be transferred to the Internet Saver Plus Issue 13.
The Christmas Regular eSaver is a Christmas Regular eSaver, not a Regular eSaver (IMO) so I applied for the new one and will keep the old one. Didn't cross my mind, hopefully I didn't misinterpret the terms
I interpreted it the same way, I considered them to be 2 separate items so you can have one regular saver and one Christmas regular saver.

I've funded both for this month now anyway so I'll see what happens.
I wanted to interpret it in this way, but didn't because of the risk of having my Christmas turned into low paying Issue 13.  It will be interesting to see what happens with your attempt to have both.
I'm sure I read on here today it says the latest one you open will be changed into  Esaver 13 or something like that (if you can't have both)
