    Don't forget that as a Halifax customer you can use your account details to open similar EA account with Bank of Scotland, also up to £250/month @ 4.5%
    Are you allowed to open a RBS Regular Saver by using Halifax details to register for online banking with Bank of Scotland and also not have a  Bank of Scotland current account ?

    RBS =/= BoS.

    But yes - you can register for BoS internet banking using your Halifax details, and then open a BoS RS without a BoS current account that way.

    How do I get to p1 of this thread without doing it 1 page at a time?
     At the top and bottom of the page you are on there are numbered boxes. This page is number 598 .  Boxes list page 598 down to 592 ish and then on far left is a box marked with page 1. Click on that and it takes you to page 1.

    only see that if you flip your phone, as Ed-! replied

    You don't login to BoS with your Halifax details, you register for online BoS access, and enter your Halifax account details as part of the registration process.

    I used to have a BOS current account and RS few years ago, the RS matured and I got rid of the current account in some switch incentive.

    I have always held a Halifax account so when they upped their RS rates I opened one for its 4.5%

    Few days later I thought I would open a BOS current account again just for their 4.5% RS. I was using my phone at the time so went through the current account opening process, all went through fine so just had to wait for online access to arrive so i could open their RS.

    That night I happened to be on my laptop and go to the BOS website, I pressed log in and the laptop had remembered my username and password from few years ago, so I logged in to see if anything was there. It showed my Halifax account and the Halifax RS. Looking at savings accounts it allowed me to open a BOS RS with no current account being open at all.

    I opened it and it was showing straight away when I logged into my Halifax banking app too. I deposited via my Halifax account. To this day on my Halifax banking app and the old BOS banking this BOS RS is still showing.

    My online access arrived from the new BOS current account, I logged in and the new current account was showing, but no sign of the Halifax account or the Halifax RS or more importantly the BOS RS. I clicked on the savings accounts available to me and to my surprise a RS was available to me to open at 4.5%. I have not opened another one but looks like there is a glitch in the system that would allow me to do so.

    Just to clarify, when I log into Halifax and my old BOS the same accounts are showing, Halifax account, Halifax RS and BOS RS. When I log into BOS with the new current account there is only that account showing.

    Worth a punt opening another RS you recon for another 4.5%?

    Sounds like they've set you up with a second BoS user profile - I had something similar happen with TSB a few years ago. Sounds like there'd be nothing stopping you opening a second BoS RS with your second profile... and possibly registering for Halifax internet banking with your second BoS account details and possibly getting a second Halifax RS too if you wanted to push your luck even further. Worst case is they close the extra RS accounts down after you open them.

    You do not need a BOS current account if you are a Halifax customer. Use your Halifax account details to register.
  • @Special_Saver2 slight correction to your figures for that Earl Shilton account, max is £1000 per month not £500 :)
