I was just about to post the same. The blow by blow accounts of every single email received (or not received), every phone call, every little transfer of money and every account being opened/closed is just incredibly boring now. I've had at least 60 email alerts already today, and have gained zero useful information.Nick_C said:OK. Can't take any more of the irrelevant rubbish on here, so I'm unsubscribing.
SS2, thanks for all the help these thread provided over the years.5 -

Any word on Nottingham Building Society rate cuts? I've still got their Seasonal Saver and Special Regular Saver Issue 8 running, both variable interest rates, but haven't heard anything from them regarding rate cuts yet.

But at what percentage does it not become attractive then? I will stick with it purely because of the £500 p/m you can lock away.polymaff said:badger09 said:Just got mine. I'll stick with Coventry. In a couple of weeks time 1.85% might look attractive the way things are going.
Might? - Does !
I can't say the TSB Monthly Saver appeals to me at all @ 2% & £250 pm. That only returns you £28.33 annually.
At what annual return do others think 'it's not worth it!'0 -
I got my email from the Coventry todayI consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0

It returns more for £250 than you get for £250 in Coventry. You can complement a TSB account with a Halifax and/or a BOS Monthly Saver, so you can easily stash £750 a month away at a fixed 2% (at present). Add a Club Lloyds, and you get 2.5% fixed on £400/mth max.tel_ said:I can't say the TSB Monthly Saver appeals to me at all @ 2% & £250 pm. That only returns you £28.33 annually.
My cut-off before the recent round of interest rate slashing was 2%. I am now going to keep my 1.85% Coventry accounts but only because I have maxed all the 2%+ accounts, and because I can't get a 1-year fix that beats drip-feeding the 1.85% account. If I could get a better return from a 1-year fix, I would be using the 1-year fix. If I didn't have a lump sum and was saving monthly, I would go for anything that pays me more than an instant access account, so as low as 1.3% or so on current rates.tel_ said:

Just opened the TSB monthly saver and didn’t read the summary box and transferred £250 from my Al Rayan, but it says you can only deposit via standing order from a TSB current account. Anyone else have experience with this? The money hasn’t arrived in my TSB and hasn’t bounced back to my Al Rayan yet so kinda worried. Thanks.
also, if I open today, is it the classic I can deposit again on the 1st or have to wait until 22nd?0 -
I've been paying into mine monthly from a non-TSB account without any issues.Nuggy96 said:Just opened the TSB monthly saver and didn’t read the summary box and transferred £250 from my Al Rayan, but it says you can only deposit via standing order from a TSB current account.
