The Principality Building Society Regular Saver Bond (issue 30) now pays 3.25% (fixed).

It allows savers to pay in up to £250 per month.

You cannot make any withdrawals from the account until it matures

You can close the account before it matures. Any interest earned will be added to the account balance and paid to the account holder.

I think this will be at least the third time I have closed the previous issue account and opened the new one for the higher interest. Thankfully it is a smooth process handled online if required

I opened RSB Issue 29 in September at 2.80% fixed. I have now opened and funded Issue 30 at 3.25% fixed.

I will keep Issue 29 going at the moment as it just beats anything I can get on easy access.

As noted above, you can have one of each issue Principality's Regular Savers. You can close at any time without loss of interest.

I have been trying to pay my YBS Loyalty Reg eSaver by Halifax debitcard today, got declined. I iwll try that again later. I just wonder about other people experience paying your YBS RSA using halifax debitcard. Is there any change. Thanks

The YBS debit card deposit system does occasionally fail for no apparent reason.  About a year ago it failed more often than it worked, but I think they fixed that issue.  I don't know if there has been a recent change, but it is something I normally expect to happen from time to time so I make sure the deposits are made early enough in the month to go with a plan 'B' if it does go wrong.

The rate on their closed issue 1, remains unchanged at the moment:

First Home Steps Online (issue 1) - Closed issue
    • Currently pay 2.55% on balances £7,501 - £25,000, 2.05% £2,501 - £7500.00 and 1.85% £1 - £2,500.00.
    • No change to the account interest rate at the moment.

Though information on the Principality Building Society website states that that are still currently working through what the latest BOE base rate increase means for their members.  Therefore, there is a possibility that closed issue rates may change soon too.

Closed yesterday just my luck - at least the lowest interest rate tier still beats the 2.75% easy access whilst building the account balance back up!

You are allowed one of each issue. So if you have Issue 29 (2.8%), you can keep it if you want to, alongside Issue 30.
Thank you so much for this, even less hassle!

Received email today that my account was increasing in interest. Shaking with anticipation I opened the pdf only to find their regular savers remain as before at 2.55% for RS 11 and 3% for small saver. Aaaa.....rgh.

Saffron RS - 2.55% fixed - I have just withdrawn all but £100 in order to remain a voting member. I assume you can miss monthly payments with no penalty? I will cancel SO`s funding RS forthwith. They have a history of new RS`s with competitive interest rates that you can open on closure of old RS. Money gone to new Santander E Saver 2.75%.
