Follow the link below, when on that page there's a list on the right under "Related Pages" where you'll find "closed accounts", click on that, you'll find another list, click on regular savers, and the Special Occasions Saver is listed there (along with another 2 closed regular savings accounts). It's been there since I posted the above.MiserlyMartin said:

Yes, but it will take about 38 months to build up £30,000 and then you have up to 4 withdrawals each year.MiserlyMartin said:The downside of this new Regular Monthly Saver account seems to be a maximum balance of £30,000. And I cannot see the Special Occasion Saver listed as a closed account or anywhere on the site.0 -
Thanks. I found it. Well hidden under 2 duplicate pages of the same thing, one with, one without. In terms of rates, the last rate rise on it was 0.3% not the full 0.5% , so over the longer term it seems that Darlington are gradually running down the competiveness of this account. I suspect they won't pass on the latest 0.5% rise either.

Hi Everybody,
I have changed the following items on page 1 of this thread for this weekend's update.
- Virgin Money Home Buying Coach Regular Saver (Issue 13) updated from issue 12 and then removed from the relevant post on page 1 as I realised it does not meet the current criteria for appearing on this thread (the interest rate is too low)
- NatWest Digital Regular Saver Account and Royal Bank of Scotland Digital Regular Saver Account interest rate updated to 5% (5.12% AER) on the first £1,000
- Coventry BS First Home Saver interest rate updated to 2.25% variable from 7th October 2022
- Coventry BS Regular Saver (Issue 5) interest rate updated to 2.4% variable from 7th October 2022
- Darlington BS Special Occasion Saver withdrawn and removed from page 1 (I find it interesting how clicking on that link for this account now re-directs to a green regular saver account)
- Darlington BS Regular Monthly Saver account added paying 2.5% variable on up to £750 per month and the minimum age for this account is 13 years old, locals and existing members only
I will do the next update next weekend.

Anyone else think it's strange that HSBC did not follow First Direct by upping their reg saver to 3.5% from 1% many months ago. When my HSBC reg saver matured almost a year ago I decided to wait until they matched FD but it looks like they have decided to stay at 1% even in these days of rates.

Can I open the Coventry BS First Home Saver but not actually save for a house and instead just use it as a normal savings account?Special_Saver2 said:Hi Everybody,

According to Moneyfacts, Hinckley & Rugby Building Society are launching an account called, Regular Saver 30 Day Notice account.
It pays 3.00% and you can deposit £10 - £500 per month.
The account runs for two years and the maximum balance is £12,000.
Withdrawals are unlimited (but going by the name of the account, I suspect that 30 days' notice will need to be provided for withdrawals to be penalty-free).
The account reverts to a Plain Sailing Easy Access account after two years.
If 2 payments are missed, the account reverts to Plain Sailing Easy Access Account.
The account can be opened in branch or via post.
