It states that on their website, but as an existing Loughborough BS customer when I opened their Save To Buy, it stated the same info (re: providing ID etc.) but I did not send any. They opened the account for me.Bridlington1 said:It looks like it. Also it appears that unless you go into branch, you have to make your initial deposit by cheque alongside proof of adress and ID, all of which needs to be posted to them. Please call me 'Kazza'.1 -
Interesting re: Loughborough BS.
On closed issues, the Flexible Monthly Saver had increased from 1.2 to 2% but they kept the Flexible Save to Buy at 1.5%. Now they have raised the latter to 2%.
Now the open issue Monthly Saver has been increased from 1% to 2.5% in one go. It appears to be unrestricted withdrawals.
I'd already closed my FMS account but retained the FSTB account. I will maintain that now, as I notice this one part of the terms on the open Monthly Saver account:
Once the account becomes a closed issue, no further deposits may be made
which is not the case on the closed issues.1 -
I phoned Loughborough BS to ask them about this this afternoon. One of their senior savings managers called me back just now.happybagger said:Interesting re: Loughborough BS.

They said that they may allow customers to continue paying into the Regular Saver (issue 1) even after the account becomes a closed issue. They put the condition there just in case the account becomes very popular. If they do decide to stop taking deposits, they will write to customers in advance and will provide notice of any change in that regard.

I finally gave up waiting for Loughborough to increase rates on the FSTB last week and told them in writing that I've had to cancel 3 accounts this year due to them being left behind. Typical they now increase.
However, I feel vindicated as those funds are now sat with OakNorth at 2.26%.0 -
I closed my Loughborough FSTB on 15th August when it was still at 1.5%. I felt that I had waited long enough for the rate to rise from 1.5%. I wonder if Loughborough were waiting for enough of these accounts to be closed before raising the rate?Wheres_My_Cashback said:I finally gave up waiting for Loughborough to increase rates on the FSTB last week and told them in writing that I've had to cancel 3 accounts this year due to them being left behind. I've today posted off an application for the RS Issue 1 at 2.5%, along with cheque for £500.

I applied on the 13th and got email confirmation of my registering and applying, which stated "your unique online user ID and activation code will be sent to your registered email address or mobile phone if you have registered one in the next few days". However to date I have received no further email.Daliah said:

Its been a week and I still haven't even received my account number or any login details..Daliah said:SRBS crediting of deposits; they are treacle slow in showing the deposits online BUT it doesn't matter as the amounts get credited for the day you make the payment. This is the case for deposits made on working days, at least.
No sign yet of my passbook, either. But I won’t need it for quite a while yet, unless interest rates suddenly jump massively and SRBS don’t follow suit
I have now received my passbook in the post with a welcome letter dated the 17th, saying I have 14 days from date of letter to make a deposit, but don't have the means to log in yet. Is this normal? Did others get an email with login details?0 -
I certainly did get the email for the login - though all their allows you to do is view the RS. Give them a nudge if your login email is still missing.Snapdragon said:

You can make deposits, up to £500 this month, without having online access. I can't check right now but IIRC, the bank details for the deposits are in the passbook

Snapdragon, as you know the account number, you can make payments into SRBS using the details on their Standing Order mandate form, it's on their page here1

Chorley (No longer available)Seasonal Saver increases to 1.75% on 29th September. So much behind time. Probably the BoE will have had another increase mid September and competitors will be increasing interest rates. Obviously Chorley considers mortgages more important than savers.0

Dudley BS
One year RS (amongst others) increased from 1.5 to 1.65.
