As above, the blue "Apply Online" is a link to the form.

Previously, when they've had enough applicants, they changed it to local post codes only.

Where is the SRBS online application form please? I can't see it all on their website.
    Thanks

Go onto the regular saver page on the SRBS website and click the blue "Apply Online" button just under the heading "How do I open and manage my account"

SBRS - how do you make withdrawals?  I find the withdrawal information on their website confusing. Does anyone have the answers to the following (I would have called them but they are now closed until Monday):

    1. can you withdraw more than £2,500 a day by faster payment?
    2. how do you request a faster payment withdrawal?
    3. what kind of notice, if any, is required for faster payment withdrawals?
    4. what is their Society year?

Withdraw by sending letter (or form provided online) together with savings book and possibly proof of current account (form provided online to nominate the current account) and sent by Royal Mail at your expense.
All this is documented in their online details.
Lots of forms you can print off t'interweb if you search their online site. Withdraw by faster payment preferably, or cheque if you want. No limit on withdrawal excepting if you want cash.
The savings book must be sent to them for any withdrawal or closure as with most small building societies.

In their T&Cs item 2.2 says the Society's year end is 31 October.

I have held several passbook accounts - never needed to return any of them for withdrawals / closure. The SRBS approach seems a shame and an unnecessary bureaucracy. Thanks for the info, anyway.

Same here, certainly no passbook required for closure from such as Newcastle BS, Yorkshire BS, Leeds BS etc. I did apply online for the SRBS account, but I'm having second thoughts now as their processes do seem very archaic.

Well, it should be no surprise if you read the key information - it's not 'small print'.

Well I hope you saved and read the T&C for the account before you applied.
You often see in the Daily Fail of people finding old savings account books and getting really upset when investigation results in saying the account was closed. Demanding the book is presented before withdrawal or closure avoids these complaints.

Many small building societies, Loughborough,  Mansfield, and Tipton to name but a few, use this in their T&C and remember they often charge a fee (£10) for a lost book.
You have to decide, before opening a new account, if you wish to meet their conditions. I have many accounts that only have withdrawals by cheque with the resultant delay in the post, depositing the cheque and clearance. At least SRBS does have faster payments.
