Opened and funded, thanks.
Had some minor issues with confirming payee details when trying to pay from my Virgin money account. It wasn't until i checked the payee details 3 or 4 times, that it finally let me progress, albeit with a warning that payee details didn't match. Anyway, new account showed initial deposit straightaway.0 -
Nationwide Start To Save 2
Account opened and funded (extraordinary amount of stuff to read/confirm during the application but hey-hoh).
I couldn't yet set up an SO from Santander for the monthly payments as the account number of the new account isn't yet recognised. Seems to require some overnight processing at the Nationwide end. I know I could do it via an existing Nationwide current account but prefer to do it directly so it has to wait until tomorrow.2 -
No problem funding this from my Chase savings account, the perfect feeder account.

Just need to wait 24 hours for the account details to be recognised by an external provider.
Normal practice with Nationwide accounts tbf.
(Edit: Just noticed @Daliah had already stated this bit in her post 🤦♂️)
Initial deposit made this morning from the remains of my Nationwide current account balance.
A clean SO will then be set up tomorrow for the 1st of the month as "month" is "calendar month" with this account.1 -
Nationwide Start To Save 2No problem funding this from my Virgin current account either.

The interest on the 'Start to Save' previous version is up from 1.25% to 1.35% from July 1st. Found that out after I'd closed it - get more than 1.25% on my ready money.1

Prize draws on this version 2 are only every 6 months0

Noticed on the Leeds Building Society website that the rates for the current and existing regular saver goes up to 1.45% for balances up to £6000 and 0.65% for anything over from 1st July2
