Not much time left to run, but the interest rate on the YBS loyalty regular saver has increased from 3.5 to 3.6%.

I don't know if reported already but the Darlington Building Society 'Special Occasions Saver' regular savings account is now 1.4% (up from 1.25%).

Same t&c's as before, max 3 accounts and £250 month per account.

Green Regular Saver also upto 1% and possible increase in the young saver rates (I don't know what these were previously).

Am i right in thinking that you have to be local to Darlington to get these accounts?

    Not really according to this
Either the existing members or those in local area will qualify.

To quote from the T&Cs: The maximum balance (excluding interest) is £6,000 at the end of the 1 year term.

YBS are pretty sharp at returning payments that shouldn't have been made. You'd only have made less than £1.30 from another £500, anyway.

Doesn't seem to be the same restrictions on opening an easy access account (https://www.darlington.co.uk/savings-account/instant-access-account/), so perhaps open one of those first by post then open a RS as an "existing customer"?
